How was it cheating? if it was cheating wouldn't there have been a limit as to how many players he could sign during the season. u can't compare what he did, to sammy corking a bat, and barry and roger taking performance enhancers. there are ACTUAL rules that BLATANTLY state what they did was wrong. btw to be perfectly honest I could care less what you think about me. y should I care about the respect of someone who would think negatively of someone because of the goings on in mmorpg?

cheating is wrong whether someone is seriously injured or simply taken advantage of in a free online game. you probably think that people take sammy sosa, barry bonds, and roger clemens situations too seriously too because after all that is just a game.

i am curious, what kind of cheating would be serious enough for you to stand up and say something about?

i read this same explanation for all of your actions over and over again but no where does anyone acknowledge the unsportsmanlike conduct of it all. you ask the question "so should we have just released them and be stuck with a team of 10 people who wanted to stay?" the answer is easy. what you should have done if you did not like the team you where on was to get traded to a team that you wanted to be on using the system set forth by the sim which would have ensured that the trades where fair.

instead you went around that system with the roster purge and sign tactic you ended up with. but of course doing it the right way would not have guarenteed that all of your friends wound up on the same team, it would have meant that Cheattanooga would have had to sacrifice talent to bring in talent, it would have meant more work for all involved to make your wishes happen legitimately and of course it also may have meant that you may not have ended up in the lowest league possible making it less likely that your players could have dominated to avoid getting "smoked" as one of your compatriots mentioned was a concern in their previous rebuttal.

until this situation is resolved i intend to continue the torch wielding, pitch fork waiving assault on the gates of frankensteins castle, and i suspect i am not alone on that, because yes their is a prize. Pride and respect. Pride and respect is the prize for all those who participate and win legitmately.

This is a prize that you and your ilk have already forfieted in this league at least because you will never win the respect of your peers and no one can take pride in winning the way you all have decided to go about it.

once again i think you are well aware of how this was cheating but in case you are not or missed one of a few gajillion posts laying it out for you then all you have to do is goto the main forum and find Bort's post on the subject of Collusion/Gutting. Simply read the definitions. They are pretty clear. Two or more players intentionally putting talent on one team from another at the originals teams expense is collusion which is what went on here. you all decided between the players and the two team owners that you did not want to play for one team but did for another and there you go - one team was left in shambles while another was drastically improved = collusion ergo CHEATING.

The fact that you have no reason to care about the respect of others playing on a mmorpg is exactly why you have no problem with what you did.

1)it's not that big a deal if someone cheats in MONOPOLY, it's a board game
2) it says you can't do that in monopoly. It never says anywhere that I can't ask my owner in GLB to release me so I can join a different team that my friend is on. Hell players in the NFL ask to be released and traded all the time. Junior Seau retired from the Chargers and then abruptly signed with the Patriots. You guys bitching is like when people bitch at the Yankees for signing big name players in free agency.

forget it. i'm not wasting anymore time arguing with you about this. I have a life to go live. you guys should try it. there's this new thing that was invented a while back, it's called female interaction. u should look into it.

thank you for proving my point. cheating is a big deal no matter what it is. that is what we call ethics. the fact that you are saying cheating is no big deal when it comes to games is exactly why you are horrible for GLB and should be banned.

secondly you did not simply ask for your release. this was clearly by all accounts an active discussion between the entire lot of you including the two team owners. i would not have had issue at all if a single player had gotten his release and then resigned. happens all the time, i have done it for others even. this situation is not what is considered collusion and does not provide an unfair advantage for anyone. however this is not what happened here which i am certain you know. so if you want to try and justify yourself at least try and give us some apples to apples comparisons ok?

guys, I never asked Bort if I could move every player to the same team, all it was that he ok'ed releasing the players as long as I didin't run away with all the money too.

So you can call it gutting, but I did what I was told I could do. I had a fine day in my first pro league game so I'm gone for good.

cutting a bunch of high level players and dropping them all at once into a league three levels lower that costs the new owner nothing and leaves the old team in shambles is wrong

Brokeback owner chiming in here. I think I started pushing this issue some time ago and although I feel I am heavily active, I have not had time to push it to the extreme you guys have. I applaud you all for your persistency, because if not for that this crap would have been allowed without at least an investigation.

There has been SO MANY lies and/or mistruths, the latest to be uncovered was the blatant lie that Mort allowed the release of the top 3rd of their roster. That alone is more than enough for an investigation and raises flags all over the place, and it was that statement which probably pushed them to look into it. I thank mamba or whomever it was for giving us that bone.

They claim they wanted to play together, well....they were playing together!! They want it on their terms however regardless of how shady, underhanded, and unethical it is. Two leagues were/are seriously effected by this, all because they weren't winning????? If they didn't have the time to run the team, GIVE IT UP TO SOMEONE ELSE?? Bailing on it to go to a league three or so levels lower just so you could pad your stats is embarrassing.

We've all worked very hard on our teams in this league, and I don't mind being 0-11 to the likes of those GM's with integrity and an idea of fair play. I do mind losing to a team bringing in a bunch of ringers mid-season.

Thank you again for your persistence.

I just want this to be over with, I moved on and I hope you guys will too. If anyone is guilty it's me. I was Naive and didn't consider others or the conqsequences of the moves. Believe me when I say I never really meant to harm anyone, I was just too stupid to realize what I was doing.

Still stand my ground in saying Bort told me I needed to keep the money intact, but I NEVER asked him about moving everyone the same place.

Bort or DD or anyone else can PM me with any questions if you like, I'm not going to be posting in this thread any longer. I moved on to the pro league so that's where I'm going to stick around.
