I happen to be a state student (notice the avatar of the 2nd leading passer in the league!), who shares a similar hate for both u of m and osu. anyhow, in terms of ludlow, i think they have definitely been overrated by rankings, i can think of about 8 teams in this league (both conferences) who can beat them. we'll see how it pans out though

go badgers

Looking at the Badgers record, it appears as if Ludlow beat all the teams NewDawn lost to (except Santa Fe of course) and currently carry a tie with the Badgers. As Eso said we did lose to Indy in week 1, but that was before I taught Eso about tactics.

I hope both teams are able to make it to the Conference finals so that one of us can "clear" that tie. But the playoffs are a tricky place...who knows what will happen.

Yup...we got beat up at the end of the season...no doubt...but i'm working on taking over the offense...so I'll see what we can pull off. We got some easy scrimmage games. So will be interesting to work out some strats. Are you going to be able to beat the Baggers this time? Or will you have a first round choke?

Now want to ask me about the Ghosts, or the Sharks....both of which are in the playoffs and I GM them as well.

Well, as the new DC of Windy City, I plan on choking in the first round. Thanks for asking.

how is new orleans in front of us?

we have the second best overall record.
we have a better in conference record than NO with 13-2 while their in conference was 12-3.
we beat them in the head to head game 28-13

Yea, I was wondering the same thing. I am not sure why we are ranked higher in the standings esp since tie breaker is head to head and you beat us. Weird.

its actually a 3 way tie gentlemen...and the 2nd tiebreaker I believe is points scored....

thats silly it should be in conference record...

Points scored is a very commonly used tiebreaker. I see no reason why it should not be used here.

The Nation led BBB 10 with 527 pts scored, and 66 TDs. I think we earned the #2 seed.

Well you are wrong. It doesnt matter how much you score, all that matters is winning games. So you could be saying that the Browns, Bengels, Texans, Cardinals, Saints, Vikings, Lions, Eagles, Bears, and Broncos all deserve to make the playoffs over the Titans because these teams had more offensive production points?!

This is the whole process in the nfl. Now i know this isnt the nfl, but this is a game based upon american football. american football = nfl.

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs).
New Orleans 1-1
Badlands 1-1
Gilead 1-1
So after the first test everyone is still tied. Bummer.

2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Well since we dont have divisions and instead just conferences, then these three are pretty much similar.
Badlands 13-2
New Orleans 12-3
Gilead 12-3
So from here Badlands should be put #2 and the #3and4 teams will continue on the path of ranking.

5. Strength of victory. - A part of the NFL's tiebreaking proceedure, strength of victory is figured by calculating the combined winning percentage of the opponents a team has beaten.
New Orleans has a 5.375 strength of victory.
Gilead has a 4.875 strength of victory.
So from here New Orleans should be placed ahead of Gilead and it is over. The rest does not matter. But I put it here for people who might be curious of the whole procedure.

6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in common games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

Well Gentlemen, the Playoffs are here. It's been a wild inaugural season for the Badlands Abomination and the BBB10 Western Conference.

Congratulations to Northwest, New Orleans, Gilead, Sante Fe, Biloxi, The Snails, and Bellevue for making it this far. Congrats to the Eastern Conference as well.

It's time to tighten your chin-straps and bust some heads.

Right, and you won the same number of games as some other teams.

I can't stand whiney babies.

The first tiebreaker is head-to-head.

The second is points.

Deal.

By the stats there's no doubt that the Nation has the best offense in our league this year. The number 2 team is 50 something points behind

My response to the last three posters^^^...read beerbaron's whole post before you try to tear him down and call him names. His point is why does a good offense equal a higher ranking. Why not a good defense? Isn't defense just as much a part of winning as offense? The current tie-breaker is flawed in that respect.

The tie breakers go:

Head to head
Points scored
Points allowed

So it does factor in. Just because it's not in the order you or someone else wants, does not mean it's wrong.

Is the second tiebreaker really points scored rather than point differential?
