I don't care about winning big. Hell, I don't even care what the score is as long as our team is victorious at the end.

I don't think you guys intentionally tried to run up the score, I think you just planned to the best of your ability and that score was the result..but that being said, if you HAD tried to run up the score in this game I wouldn't blame you. I would encourage it! Points scored is a tie breaker in this game, so score every point you can!

I promise you that I will be trying to score every point possible against the Jersey Boys, simply because, if Manhattan were to somehow beat us and we were to somehow beat New Brunswick, first place at that point would go to points scored(I believe), and we would really like to be able to get the #1 seed in the playoffs.

Classless is the Patriots being up on the Dolphins by...what was it...30+ points and still going for it on fourth down in Field goal range.

Classless is NOT making the best game plan before the game where the game is SIMULATED.

You have to go with the best game plan you can find, because once that game starts you lose all control. I can't see why anyone would seriously attempt to pull punches. In my mind, pulling punches is called "Underestimating your opponent" and it causes losses that should not have happened.

BTW bud, I actually think both Lima and the Bullets are a bit better than Wala Wala, I just thought your rankings were skewed by your desire to pimp the East... I didn't object to your number one.

As Irons said your rankings are a discussion point, to lash out when someone questions it is a bit oversensitive.

I dont think lima is good enough yet. I put wala wala ahead of them. Chicago will be tested soon as well. We all will really. It seems all of the top teams play each other in the final 3-5 games of the season. Fun Fun.

AI During blowouts

DVSmith said that during a blowout the AI will tone down your team to limit the damage. For example (to pick a total hypothetical) it will move from passing to running to quickly end the game. That is news to me, but who knows? Maybe DVSmith is belligerent and incoherent, but right about this one issue? So I posted this question on the GLB Forum:

"My understanding is that the AI adjusts to limit plays that aren't working and increase plays that are working."

"Someone on our league board asserted that during huge blowout the AI will actually do the opposite, start to pick plays that aren't working as well, or run the ball to run out the clock. So, for example, if you are up 50-0 in the 3rd quarter, and your passing game is on fire, the AI will start to run the ball more."

"Is this true?"

It is but it really wont affect you guys as a team. Most teams have starters who are higher than their backups. So if you set it to favor backups if up by more than x amount of points most teams will play their backups. Since your backups are equal or higher level than your starters even favoring backups you will still dominate. Its one of the major reasons why your team is so good. So in general it works if you set it just not for teams with players in each posistion being same level. Level 7 DT vs your Lvl 11 OT or your lvl 11 OT Backup you will still be top notch Hope that helps explain it a bit.

OK, from the responses I learned:

-The AI does switch to running the ball in a blowout, but not until the 4th quarter.
-It doesn't matter what level you have the AI set, the switch occurs (just like passing if you are behind).

Looking at our game I see we did indeed switch to mostly, but not exclusively, running in the 4th quarter.

So, if the consensus of that thread is correct, DVSmith was right that the AI switches to running in a blowout (however it happens in the 4th, not 3rd, quarter). Wrong that it is sensitive to how you set the AI.

I love it how New Brunswick acts as though their playbook is like instructions on how to enrich uranium or something...

Here's a newsflash.... Ya'll are winning because you have level 11+ players at every position and level 11+ backups as well...... It isn't some ingenius game-planning and you being "smarter" than everyone else....

Not meant to be confrontational, but I am LITERALLY rolling my eyes at their clandestine attitude toward their "masterful" game-planning...

Payton, I don't think our game planning is better than anyone else's. But whatever it is, I don't want you to know it. Simple as that. But if the whole league decides to focus and pick apart one of your games, I'm certainly happy to hear all about what your tactics settings were!

Regarding deathknight's post...right. we all know that. i didn't realize that was an issue even up for debate, wasn't the subject of any of my posts. and doesn't relate to my question about the AI choosing run in blowouts.
