That's my point...

The SEC fans or promoters act as if the athletes from the south stay south. They act like they never get players from the Midwest/Northeast. It's laughable. Great athletes come from all over the USA, and it shows in all the different conferences as the Big 10 draws a bunch of talent from the south, just as the south draws a bunch of talent from the mid west.

lol aggies: http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/story/2012-05-21/sec-espn-cbs-media-rights-deal-cable-channel

"The network has balked at paying any type of significant increase, sources say, arguing that the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M does not change its deal.

CBS still will carry the same number of football games each season as part of its package, and network executives are arguing that schools such as Alabama, Florida and LSU—not Missouri and Texas A&M—drive the value of the conference. Without additional inventory, CBS’s stance has been that it shouldn’t pay more solely because the conference added two new schools."

So A&M isn't going to bring the SEC any more games or any more money. Looks like the only people who think aggies are worth something are the aggies.

CBS’s deal with the SEC, negotiated in 2008, pays an average of $55 million a year to the SEC over 15 years. A prorated increase would take the value of that deal up to $65 million a year. The SEC could generate additional revenue by adding more years on the end of the contract.

Yup, an 18% increase isn't significant. Also, the ESPN deal is going to bring in a lot more money, the CBS deal is just the tip.

No. What it means is that aggie brought no added value over what any other school being added to the SEC would have brought. The SEC could have added Texas State and they would have received the same increase in revenue. The increase was only given because they added any school, not because they added aggie. Essentially, aggie did not add any value to the SEC. Hence, "Alabama, Florida, and LSU--not Missouri and Texas A&M--drive the value of the conference."

According to the opinion of 2 writers speculating on things that may or may not happen. They probably wrote similar things about how much money and value the LHN would make. ESPN could have made the Texas State Network and they would have received the same increase in revenue. See how that works?

This is the basis of what they are writing about. WTF did you expect CBS to say? "We TOTALLY agree with the added value of adding A&M and Missou into the fold, and will voluntarily give another zillion dollars to the SEC." It is posturing.

Top 4? What kind of random shit is that? The SEC has 8 BCS titles, everyone else combined has 6...

Look, I know how serious y'all are about ADs. So I took the AD and put it with the AD so the AD could show the AD how it felt about the AD.

Well an aggie wouldn't know anything about finishing in the Top 4.

I could have said Top 5, but why not be specific? And I'm not sure why you're talking about the SEC having 8 titles when aggie has never even sniffed one. The SEC is a great league and the Big 12 is a great league. They are the top two leagues in the country. But aggie doesn't have anything to do with making those leagues great. It's teams like Texas, OU, OSU, Alabama, LSU, and Florida that make those leagues the best. aggie is just middle of the pack.
