Why? I'm not done with this one, and don't like the new one nearly as much. I know that I'm not alone, or we wouldn't be seeing threads like this. If they really just say "screw you" to their long-term customers by pulling the plug or letting the game go to hell because they don't want to support their product, that is their prerogative. It is then my prerogative to give them no more of my money.

By the way, I did say "if." I sincerely hope they are not doing what some are claiming. The problem is, they are doing almost nothing to dispel that notion.

I think your post was a rather absurd overreaction.

Just another reason why your comment is absurd.

Why?!!! Really?

They came out with a game, you played if for 5 years. They announced taking it out of Beta. Changes came to a halt in thoughts for a new game. Your first thought is that Bort is just a game jumper? lol....what a fucking stupid way to look at it. I am sorry but this is just a classic retort from people who loved GLB1 and that is fine. But it makes absolutely zero sense at all realistically. I don't care how many facepalms jd sends out, the fact is that it is an absurd comment.

Look, when the new game first came out, my first thought was not "Oh no! The original is dead!" I honestly didn't think of the idea at all until speculation started running rampant in this forum and management has done nothing to dispel these notions. What the hell are we supposed to think at this point?!? Management has not done a damn thing to reassure anyone.

Bort could end this whole speculation B.S. now, and maybe get some people off the sidelines, by stating that the game would continue to be reasonably supported for a full player life cycle after any announcement of its impending termination. Even if he has no plans to end this game, that would at least shut up the naysayers. This game might have been running for five years, but it takes damn near a year to see a player through to the end for cryin' out loud. This game is a large investment of time, patience, and cares. If, and I still say IF, management doesn't get that or care about it, I don't think it is absurd to be upset about that fact as a customer.

You need to calm down a bit and think of this from another perspective. Right now you are being a myopic asshole.

Enough with the 5 years bull shit. Yes this game has lasted for 5 years, because it is a good game that had such a high demand in the niche market for which there was not and still isnt a competant competitor. Many, many people have spent thousands on this game over that time, it is WG's entire reputation, the new game has only been out a few months, it doesnt have a fraction of the steam as GLB1 had, whoever is in charge of advertising has always done a terrible job, so they seem to be heavily relying on this userbase for it who largely think it is a total abortion because it is.

This game isnt COD, or Halo, or Dark Souls, or a damn Pepsi product backed by a billion dollar industry and hundred million dollar budget, with competition and advancing hardware, market research, constant increase in new users/ideas driving the market for something which doesnt require dropping a thousand + $ committment to move on from to an inferior product.

And stop talking about it is because it left beta. Games dont wind down and come to a halt when they leave beta you moron. They launch and then receive constant updates and DLCs, which is why the length of the beta tag was such a joke to begin with.

Abandoning this game is a horrible business move in every measurable aspect of it unless they dramatically lower the price, a painfully obvious conclusion noted by Saris and others and something they clearly arent going to do which makes the whole thing such a creamy loogy. Unfortunately, abandonment is not the sole issue for discontent and is rather a continued symptom of the disease which has festered from management's decisions, lack of reliable presence (excluding Catch who was fired because he is not a friend or family member of the restaura- I mean gaming company), and general inability to adequately assuage the customers into thinking those bad decisions were in fact for the health of the company.

And for the record, I don't personally think that Bort is stupid or a jerk enough for the above not to be the case. My original post could be read as either a reason why they would not do what is being alleged or a consequence of actually doing so. I actually worded it that way on purpose, because none of us really knows what WGG is planning.

Like you, I also want this speculation to stop, but I think it is incumbent upon WGG to give the userbase a good reason not to believe it rather than upon the customers to just not worry about it. Otherwise, this will become a self-fulfilling prophecy when people are reluctant to buy more flex to create and feed enough new dots/teams to keep it viable. That is my real worry here, not that they've secretly decided upon a date in the immediate future to pull the plug and say "GLB2 or bust!"

Given that I'm almost always right, it would be cool if people would try agreeing with me from the start.
