The problem with new users coming to this game is that they will be so far behind in dot building compared to everyone else that's been doing this for 5 years that their dots will suck royally and be a waste of their time and money. The ALG system, VAs, and the XP structure is just way too complex for newbies to get right. Hell, some people who've been doing this for 5 years still can't get it right. But I'd say the majority of users have a grasp on how to make okay dots.

If they want new users and want to retain them then they need to implement a mentor feature. This game has pretty much become inaccessible to new users, imo.

I was saying back in season 7 or 8 that they either needed to explicitly explain precisely day by day and season to season how to properly build a dot in tutorial form or kiss their userbase goodbye. The game was becoming more and more complicated by the month back then as people began to figure out what really worked. At that time, the game was basically just divided between teams who had guys who mostly knew what they were doing and teams that were full of shit builds. Now everybody has the same dot (give or take 50 SPs) and the few noobs are so far down the food chain they don't even fathom their ignorance or participate long enough to come out from the dark to see the light.

Therefore, there is nothing to do. We're all slowly walking towards the exit.

Given that you have the opportunity to screw up your dot the most the day you create him is sort of bassackwards, imo.

You don't build dots to be good, you build dots to override and overcome some of the bugs that may become more apparent in lesser built dots.

lolscoutingreport... when someone can show me a dot with an overall of 80+ (that's not an offensive lineman), then maybe dot builds and scouting reports will make sense to the sim.

Until GLB has it set up to win now and not just wait until the WL.....New people will not join to wait that long. You should be able to join and compete right away without sacrificing your end builds.
