A nerf to screens only helps me. I don't need them and they are tricky for me to defend as well.

A build barely sacrifices anything to hit those benchmarks, maybe a point or two in a couple majors tops. The only impact would be short term as it would screw over every plateau'd back that was built for the current sim.
Good. If you built with 8 catching then you should expect to be incapable of catching anything, even when wide ass open.

Following that logic wr's with low blocking shouldn't be able to block anything ever either. Which I'd be fine with or a change to screens for that matter as long as they gave us half a dozen seasons of lead time.
Regardless, it's the plateau'd ehb's that only relied on alg's to raise catching to the low 20's that I'd be most worried about.

They don't block so much as get in the way of defenders.

Why? They deserve what they get.

It is a screen pass. Guys with 8 catching are very easy to deflect if you get a guy through the blockers. If they are wide open there are still times in which they will bobble the ball, possibly even drop it. Catching isn't the only factor into the equation either. Let's stop making silly suggestions with arbitrary numbers.
I agree that there probably should be some better ways to counter screens defensively. However screens should also work better against blitz's than they currently do.

To summarize: Screens (and the defense of them) should do what they're supposed to do.

I really don't understand the problem at all. Stopping screen passes is really easy if that's your primary goal on a defensive playcall. I think some guys want one defensive playcall that stops everything.

I hope by not reading the whole thread I am missing something and your just being your normal wise ass else self on this one lol...

I think a lot of the times they do. Really it is hard to complain defensively when they are shut down a lot of times by blitz's and insta sacks and defenders constantly are on top of the HB. But they can be annoying too. Though as T2 said...you can't stop everything.

Well I mean how can you not be pissed that punters and QB's don't need catching for catching long snaps?

...And for that matter, all positions should need some form of catching in order to recover a bouncing fumble on the turf.
This is some srs bullshit!
