I always thought the penalty was 10% or less. So does that mean the bonus on preferred is also significant? I would think the % is the same.

% is definitely the same. everyone just assumed it was around 10% and the masses ran with that assumption

I was under the assumption from the old Q/As that the penalty to red SAs was around minus 2-3 in it. Maybe it actually scales and the penalty gets worse the higher the SA is taken. Wouldn't really surprise me at all.

I'd venture a guess that the way I've seen coding that, yes, it is. But no one knows. I always took greens (yum!) to 8 assuming they get a +2 bonus for favorites, but now I'm thinking maybe should go higher on them.

I asked in previous Q&A if the bonus on preferred SAs took the value above 10 in the SA, would that part above 10 still be subject to diminished returns? The answer was Yes, it would.
so maybe 8 is a better stopping point than 9 or 10 on preferred SAs.
