Because the op has left too many gaps in his suggestion. He didn't suggest that dots be forced to retire nor did he suggest that teams have to pay the remaining salary of the dots removed early.

As it stands right now the suggestion is pretty bad.

Now that I've answered that, give me one good reason that this should be changed. I've already posted that you can send in a request to support and they will move the renewal deadline back and that there is no difference between creating a dot between day 40 and day 48.

I believe I closed all the supposed gaps in the OP, so you really didn't answer, the question, since Alky didn't specify the OP as originally written.

Now to answer yours. the reason it should be changed is that we pay for these dots, and if we would like to retire them without negatively impacting the game for flex whether it is to renew a team or build a new player then unless you can come up with a valid negative impact based on the idea as it stands now, there isn't a reason why it can't be implemented.

We have had much worse ideas implemented. Now you are free to continue to talk against it as we all know you will just because you can.

Looked in the op. Still not there. OP obviously doesn't like your additions or he would have added them to the actual suggestion. We support or oppose what is suggested. Not something someone brings up in the second, fifth, twentieth post. I have no idea why this concept is so hard for people to understand.

I still cannot fathom how everybody is missing the bigger picture here. Allowing the AGENTS to determine when their dots can retire WILL cause issues with team owners. I promise you that. The ONLY way this works at all is if the team owners can make this selection. Something like this; Agent X needs flex and needs it NOW. He PM's (or whatever other way of making contact) the appropriate team management and asks for his release EARLY (as soon as possible). Management agrees and then MANAGEMENT can (with the appropriate changes made), release the dot early. Not the Agent. I am still -1 to the OP. because it will cause issues and more issues is one thing GLB can do without.

Yeah, good point. There are so many holes in the op it's not even funny.

It could easily be put in that an agent could request to retire his player and the team owner could be sent a notice and agree or disagree. Once agreed to, then the appropriate funds removed from the team finances to cover the remaining salary for that player and the player can be immediately retired and not released so they wouldn't be able to change plans and try to circumvent the signing restrictions during the playoffs

My outline of it does let the Agent request retirement and the team owner has to agree.

If it is that way every season perhaps they should consider selling back.

what if we could get an option to set a dot to retire? We could choose to have the dot retired on day 41. We would still choose the name options and have to type in a password. When day 41 comes the dot will automatically retire, and flex would be refunded.

The point, however, is to get the flex in the agent's hands before day 41, enabling him to 1) Pay for Team maintenance, 2) Build dots on day 40 and 3) Boost dots who are still in contention, and 4) Give the agent things to do in the boring post season's where he no longer has a dog in the hunt.

Your idea would address 4 somewhat but that would be about it.

Now you could have it so that the retirement is locked in and he gets his flex now but the dot remains on the roster in the meantime I suppose. That would work.
