someone remind me whether EL is comparing a given dot vs. other dots of the same level or is it same age? does archetype play into it? hard to compare a HH LB with a Cov LB

and was the whole EL calculation thing ever adjusted after accelerated player dev? seems like many of them are buggy.

EL compares a player's build value to the average of values for a given level. Age has nothing to do with it.

It also does not take archetype into consideration, although for most archetypes that won't really matter. A hard hitter LB doesn't have to be worse or better than a blitzer LB or a pass coverage LB, they all can be well built and have the same EL.

And yes, it was adjusted after the APD was implemented. The only ones that might be considered "buggy" are archetypes with 5 majors when that position has archetypes with only 4.

yeah and hes not building right from the start. if he doesnt learn how to build from level 1-19 properly, whats the point in continuing the build process? hes just going to be on the shittiest teams possible.

if its an average of ALL players of a given level, one would suppose the average at low to mid-levels would be poor then steadily improve as bad, inexperienced or experimental builds get retired. so any kind of decent build should have a good EL at low levels, given that there's a ton of abandoned/neglected dots (whoever created them doesn't log-in anymore) and less experienced dot builders. a glut of non-boosters from underground leagues, however, would probably offset (through level 58 anyway) that since they'd have more build value from training at their respective level than a booster.

age and the agent's activity should probably be taken into consideration in the EL computations to get a reasonable comparison.

If you read my advices, you'll see they are aimed EXACTLY at a starter player. So thank you for saying I'm doing the right thing.

if you read the advice that was being given to him that you called shit, youd realize we're trying to teach him how to be good at higher leagues. Youre way is obviously shit if it doesnt involve him restarting that shit dot and learning how to build for the first season since its crucial for his dot not to be terrible that early on or else he'll always be shit.

EDIT: How hard is it to understand that I'm not telling him to restart, I'm not telling him to not restart, I'm not giving a rat's ass about the player and trying to teach him how to build and stamina as a early investment is -> NEVER <- the right choice? 1. if you want to win a rookie championship and then retire, build stamina.
2. your dots suck so retire and look up how to build, then rebuild them properly


so no its not good advice for higher leagues but good advice to win the rookie championship he wants this season and then restart and do it right next season.

Alas, I'd say the same about you. Fortunately, I'm not. Ignorant OR american. And enough. I've said my peace, he knows what he should do, whether he keeps the player or restarts (which I don't give a damn about), and that's all that matters.
