I would say its a sure bet it takes great dots to win in the WL.

And its also a sure bet that its a heck of alot easier to win with better dots.

As for dropping it, I am just answering folks points. The idea is out there which was my only goal, when you all are done talking about it, so am I.

So you are basically just going to recycle the top teams into 1st / 7th / whatever tier and they reload for another run and stay up top (because rarely is the Effective Level more than a few points above normal that early).

And they would have to bring in more people to man them, more dots in contending teams, more competition, more parity, more fun.

Thats kinda the idea. Doesnt matter if they are network affiliated or not.

A plausible theory but it leaves out that having more teams gets you more exposure and puts you in more leagues and gets you more over all numbers of players associated with your teams that gets you more avenues for recruits etc etc etc.

I just started a "network" rookie team. Something that would not have been possible if I had just stuck with the OTM as my only "real" team which was the case until the farm teams started getting promoted to national pro and I decided wtheck lets see how it goes.

So your point is noted, but erroneous.

good dot builders dont usually go to bad teams. quality over quantity. and all the TERRIBLE suggestions that you make is another sure way to drive good dots away.

If people get upset about suggestions they probably would be annoying to be around anyway what with all the mouth breathing and knuckle dragging.

Sorry if you are not a fan.

Heathen.

If this was the case it seems you would not have had to make this suggestion as all agents would be flocking to your teams.

I still don't get what you are suggesting? Can you provide an example?

Lost track of how many sent inspirational word =| 55x9 dots signed.

Face it, a trivial two percent of the population are atheist while the vast majority are faithful people and the overwhelming majority of them are christian. A cross is not going to send people scurrying.

And thats all it is, the logo, some player names and avatars, and the team note. We don't have bible study at team meetings or anything. Its not the Jehovahs Witnesses Dot Ball club lol.

Well its basically change two things.

First you change the existing salary cap.

One is rather than a penalty, ala major league baseball, as it is now, make it a hard cap like the NFL and I think the NBA utilize.

Meaning your team can not offer a contract to a player if it would raise your total team salaries above whatever the Cap limit is.

Next, you adjust what a dots minimum salary would be, meaning you have to pay the dot more than you do now maybe.

Easy way to explain it and maybe implement it would be oh lets say this for example.

If your dot has an Effective Level 5 over his actual level, you have to pay him the salary that would give him a +5 morale bonus.

Optionally, for this calculation add to his Effective Level, +1.0 if he won an MVP or Championship last season, and plus .5 for each other gold trophy (tournament gold, 1st place in rushing yards etc) and .25 for each silver trophy (tourney 2nd place, Conference Championship if they didnt get gold, 2nd place in rushing yards) and .125 for each bronze trophy (3rd place in tourney, 3rd place in rushing yards). Add 1/2 the value for these awards from the season before that, and one quarter the value the season before that.

Once signed, instead of getting a +5 morale for the contract, he would get a zero morale bonus (you would have to give him a +10 contract to get a +5 out of him). Thats not in the OP, and its an option.

If his contract is multi season, then the next day 41, his adjusted Effective Level is checked again. If is has risen higher than the amount it was when he was signed (ie to 6 say in the example above) he receives a morale reduction for each whole Adjusted EL lower than the current contract morale bonus (ie his 0 morale bonus at the +5 contract would become a -1 morale penalty). The owner would have to renegotiate his stud players deal if he wanted his player happy.

Optionally, you could shuck the cap thing and just have the moral penalty concept. Would be less harsh but still effective.

i know what would really help parody is for owners not to own more than 1 crappy team. if you cant get 1 team to be a winner, odds are pretty good that you wont get 3. that would free up alot of players to join owners that might actually know how to run a team. if you took all the best players from your 3 teams, maybe you would have a better winning % than 13-35 combined record.

This is a great idea. Would be even nicer if they tied it to performance. You can own 1 team no matter what. Two teams would require that all of your teams make the playoffs, if one doesn't you lose that team. If both of your team's win a championship then you can own a third.

-1 to OP. Parity will never exist in this game because some users are better at it than others, and other players don't really care enough about winning to put up much of a fight.

2% of which population?

10-15% of the population in U.S.A. are atheist or agnostic (depending on which biased poll you want to rely on), if that is where you were thinking of. World-wide %s are around the same level, according to studies in the 90s.

Anyway, back to the thread...
