Eating any of the listed without BBQ sauce is like wearing a condom during sex- not quite as good.

Nobody normal puts BBQ sauce on bacon.

Too late Mr. not using BBQ sauce is like wearing a condom

I wasn't aware there was a "wear a condom and eat unsauced smoked meats" fetish. I will send a donation to the LGBTA on their behalf to make up for it.

Neither do any of the things he listed.

Really good BBQ shouldn't require any sauce to mask the flavor or enhance the lack of flavor, just like really good steak shouldn't require any steak sauce to mask the flavor or enhance lack of flavor.

Well, unless you mean St. Louis style or Memphis style BBQ where the sauce is the thing. I guess Carolina pulled pork is good with sauce too.

But good Texas style brisket and good KC burnt ends don't need any sauce.

Agreed. BBQ sauce can be really good on chicken, but I don't use it on actual barbeque.

I would expect a man of integrity to use condoms.

Not sure how you could be unaware of something you brought up to begin with.

So you are saying it is wrong to take a sheep while wearing a sheepskin condom, regardless of whether BBQ sauce is involved or not?

I use dry rub on my ribs and pulled pork and marinade my brisket + dry rub. No BBQ sauce here. imo BBQ sauce is just a device to cover up meat that was not smoked properly.
