Sorry jkid but I wouldn't qualify the commission cup as prestigious as the former PW cup.
The old PW cup was invite only

At the same time, I counted the FTW, AAT, Addicts, PIT, and League #5 titles as major titles. I think if I counted all of those, I should count both of these as major titles or major enough to be part of the list. This list does not say that the titles are equally prestigious, but that they are major enough and have enough good teams to be added in the list. Also, the # is just there as a summary, it is not the be all end all of team evaluation.

I counted it, but that is my opinion for this list. When I say "major," that doesn't mean that it is worth the same as the other majors. I do think that the gold title is #1 and the official tourney is #2 except when it was in cup format, in which case it is the same as other cups.

Sorry, but you have 2 major titles maybe if I count the silver tourney as a major title, which it probably was in season 15, but not in season 24. I wouldn't count the combine tourney, nor the gold-silver challenge. Silver leagues never count, neither does a gold-silver MVT nor a GLBTEAMS.NET tournament which I have never heard of. I mean if you win gold you would be on the bubble, but without a gold title, there is no way you are close to the top 5. Also, if I listed all my accomplishments, I could include all of my runner-ups, third places, and final fours, but I didn't because it's winning that matters.

Sorry? No, Dont be. ^^^^ this is what I mean by all this being subjective. This is your thread and your opinions but posting it makes it fair game for commenting. If your counting the AAT and the Addicts you should count the Combine and the Gold/Silver Challenges IMO. AAT and Addicts you had 2 rounds of playing near the bottom of all teams in the tournament. At least in Combine and Gold/Silver challenges it was heavy competition every round.

Ok, here's my opinion on that. Combine is a maybe, I'll evaluate that as I did play in it this season and it had some good teams. As for the Gold/Silver challenge, that wasn't a tournament that was designed to have 1 winner, so that I am not counting for sure. the Addicts had great competition the season I won, although I will give you that it probably was equal to the combine tourney in terms of overall strength, it was larger and therefore was tougher to win- http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=399852 Also, this list is my opinion and I would love to see your list to compare to mine and other people's.

I don't think any tourneys should count IMO. Not all teams play in tourneys. We went several seasons where I didn't even bother joining any. Some teams don't even bother with tourneys as the scheduling can be a head ache etc. Then there are a gazillion tourneys that have been come and gone and some still are not even mentioned. The past few seasons there have been several and we may have only entered a couple. Some teams don't even join any and shouldn't be ranked lowered than those who do. You also have many silver teams that enjoyed fame in Silver and not so much fame in Gold

IMO, rankings should go
Gold Championships - 200 points
Gold Championship Finals - 100 points
Gold Final 4 - 50 points
Gold Playoffs - 25 points
Gold League ONLY wins in regular season -
* 32 wins = 5 points
* 48 Wins - 10 pts
* 64 wins = 15 pts
* 80 wins = 25 pts
* 100 Wins = 50 pts
* 125 wins = 75 pts
* 150 wins = 100 pts
* 175 wins = 125 pts
* 200 wins = 200 pts
* 250 wins = 250 pts
* 300 wins = 300 pts

Etc etc

Rest is hog wash IMO - tourneys should have zero variance

My list isn't mathematical though. I just pick based on which teams have been the best over the seasons. I just add some statistics to make the teams easier to compare. I think your method is too based on gold games. The thing is, while gold games are the most important factor, tournaments should be factored in for the teams that choose to play them. There were many seasons that I didn't choose to play many or any tournaments also. Just out of curiosity LE, what would your top 5 list be? I can't imagine that it could be that different from this one.
