Short of completely getting rid of equipment or making it relevant to the sport of football, this is a step in the right direction and has my support.

To take the discussion further though, IMO basic equipment should make sense and effect the player as it would in the real world. For example, adding hand protection should in no way effect speed, but it should effect catching, tackling or blocking.

Could you possibly whine about a more trivial thing?

May I suggest that this is a checkbox during player creation, and not automatically done? Some people on GLB have serious issues with OCD (clearly), so I think I would leave it up to the user.

Sounds like a reasonable way to eliminate the only problem that could result from this, +1
