OK here is the Deal...It is freaking great, but it is pretty expensive. That being said. Get a few if your just hanging out some night and want a great buzz and a great taste. It's worth it.

Chimay is alright. There are better abbey style ales. They're just the only trappist recognized brewery with wide distribution.

Well, tbf, New Belgium puts out Abbey (a great trappist brew), along with variations, all the time.

when i call chimay a trappist i mean the trapist recognized (only 7). lots of great abbey style ales out there. Chimay is the only trappist recognized brewery with distribution which is why it's usually what people go to when they're first starting to branch out from the generic beers. It's a good brew for sure but far from my first, second or third choice for that style

*raises hand*

I realize its supposed to bring out the aroma of the beer but tbh i feel like I should have a straw and a limp wrist.

give me a pint glass, fill it to the top and let it be done

i have a great story about my dad and stepmom getting trashed on chimay at a parents weekend when i was in school. take keys from dad's pocket. pay his bill. drive them to hotel. 2x puke out of moving vehicle. 1x drag stepmom past front desk dude to elevator. etc etc.
