Ill take what i can get, When fouls are called in the NBA, even if it wasn't a foul, players don't complain, but if a foul isn't called that happens, they do.

With your formula, a CPU team could end up at the top spot for numerous weeks....

The fact you don't think the Hope are amongst the best teams in the league based on how we have played and against who shows me, and all of us, all we need to know about your formula.

DC's will (hopefully) at least take things like that into account like someone elses Power Rankings on this forum, as opposed to your copy and paste job.




First, where did I say that I didn't "think" NY HOPE was one of the best teams in the conference (league is a stretch)?

Again this formula is not subjective (ie. the rankings are not my opinion), it's all numbers based. You may not agree with the criteria, that's fine, but this ranking is simply different then Luke's or Sean's in that there are no opinions in mine.

They do a great job, I commend them.

And, if DC is set to prove me wrong then he can't use anything subjective. Which is what I think he's aiming to do.

Also, every formula based ranking is copy and paste.

Fair enough, pretty much what I thought you'd say.

Also if the CPU team had the best record, with the best SOS, and then had the best Point Difference for numerous weeks, then they would own the top spot. Again, not subjective.

So 3 games determines your SOS, or are you factoring in team performance in the previous season also? (Last years SOS, record)

Yes, but at this point it means little. It's importance increases as the season goes on. So the teams that played teams that continue to win will see their rank move up within like teams (same record). It will however never take over win total, so you will not see a team with a record of 2-2 ahead of a team that is 3-1 in my formula. And, Point difference works the same way, but is factored differently so that has the least effect on the rankings long term.

I'm not including last season, since two teams have moved up and two have moved down to our league.

maybe if you spent more time scouting teams or recruiting talent instead of bitching about someones MATHMATICAL formula on rankings you'd be doing better than 2-2 right now

All im saying is the math isn't a great system, especially this early in the season....

Read up a few posts, I said I Appreciated what he is doing to take time out of his day, I was only asking for some justification.

You asked for justification and he gave it to you, it's all in the math. You might disagree with how his formula is put together and what all the variables that are in it but those are the results. Don't like them, do your own, but keep this in mind:

1. We've only played 1/4 of the season. You don't have enough data to make a ranking that will be accurate, not in the 4th week of the season.

2. Have patience. If you think your team should be higher then just win your games and you'll go higher. Complaining about the Badger's formula isn't going to change it.

First off, i have been reading this forum and i pretty much laughed the entire time.

Second, the statement above is pretty much true in about 17 and 1/2 different ways.

Third, the only team complaining is the New York Hope. Funny, because they:
a. trash talk alot
b. complain alot
c. have several "mature" members that insult people alot
d. Have faced some great teams off the bat
e. Lost to all the great teams they have faced

If you guys were so great? why didn't you beat any of the good teams you have faced?

IT'S ONLY FUCKING WEEK 4!!!!!!

You guys are picking off right where you left off at the end of last season when Rhuin posted end of season power ranking! And guess what guys, NOBODY HAS PLAYED MORE THAN 4 GAMES! You cannot honestly predict which teams are where exactly. But it is fun to try! Lets say Badgers topd 8 right now are the same top eight when it comes playoff time, then man is he happy! He predicted the top 8 teams in week 4! If there he will laugh about it and move on.

We have several people kind enough to make Power Rankings and keep updating them. Don't Rag on them. Don't complain. Don't ask for reasoning. Don't pitch a fit and make your own power rankings that just put your own team at the top. Don't insult other people. Would any of you say this to eachother if you were standing right next to eachother?

This is a forum. For a virtual Football game. that is NOT based on real life. That is free (if you choose). This will have no relevant to the future of your life. In 10 years,you probably won't be playing this anymore. But in 10 years, they guy you gave a death threat to on a stupid forum has become a serial killer. And guess what? YOU GAVE A DEATH THREAT TO A SOON TO BE SERIAL KILLER!

STOP REPREMANDING PEOPLE FOR DOING THE PREVIOUS 2 ITEMS MENTIONED! This forum now needs to go back to discussing what has happened in games. What might happen in the future. I want some good team rivalry argueing only. NOW!

Ok, I'm done "Bitching" and "Moaning" about this list. It has no impact on our team or the standings. I've talked to my team, we are just going to play and not worry about Mathematical 100% correct Power Rankings. None the less, I want the Hope to be able to gain the respect of my fellow league members in time.

About the trash talk, that was friendly competitiveness between my team and the Warriors. They're owner and I talked through pm's, we were just kidding around. Anyways, The Hope are going to clean up they're act. Sorry for the mis communication guys.
