1..Bloodweiser Bugle All Stars (16-0)** The All Stars make their trip up to the WL with a thrashing of the Queensland Exiles (72-29) in the CPL title. I don't know shit about this team other than the fact they did steamroll every opponent last season. Now, are they that talented or was CPL that shitty...the scales of justice are blind (yeah, right). I know its a little early but they do only have 41 dots on their team but will need to pull head from ass rather quickly - I do think their steamrolling days are long gone and the reality check will come rather quickly.
Badger Prediction Depending on how their roster fills out this teams history certainly indicates they can beat the shit out of shitty teams. Problem is, I don't see any shitty teams (well, maybe one or two or even three). Like with fat chicks - one and done.

3..District 9 Prawns** 16-0 The Prawns come in as APL champs as the beat the Warthogs of Nairobi 35-10. Having been associated with this group for several seasons the Prawns certainly boast one of their top rosters since I have been there. There has been substantial roster turnover from last year but all for the better. I don't think the D9 team will have a problem getting acclimated to the WL environment.
Badger Prediction I think D9 will wake up some of the long time WL powers with a little bell ringing and a loud "We're here and not going anywhere). Expect them to fight it out for a top four seed with a few other squads.

4..Tet Offensive (16-0)** Offensive makes a splash into the WL by way of SEAPL - now, they did lose their title game to the Saigon Whores by the score of 55-22...they were not very offensive (sorry, couldn't resist). They looked to have flipped a great deal of their roster and I am not a fan of their young backs (their #2 and #3 RB's - hey, the starter can't play all game). Not saying they have not played great up to this point or will do good things I do think it will be a struggle for them this season, however. With that alone the O may indeed struggle and when the O struggles in the WL the team struggles. This team may be able to shake it off and push for a playoff birth.
Badger Prediction I think this team could flirt with a playoff spot and pull a surprise of two out of their hat.

5..Monmouth Evil Monkeys (15-1)** MEM gets their return to WL with a win over the Hounds in the USPL title game. I do think MEM thought they would be here last season so they may have learned some patience (cue Axel). Coach Packer has fielded some very good teams in his day but one thing I don't like about this MEM team is the youth I'm seeing. If my math is right (and I'm no math guy) 21 of the current 48 players are 63 or under with most being in the 61 range. I was part of the Shocker team who went young and it wasn't a real good season. I think this youth movement would have best been served in the USPL as this isn't Kansas anymore Dorothy.
Badger Prediction While MEM is generally a tough beat I just don't think their youth will prevail this season - they can get a season of experience next year in USPL and be back in time for the WL in their prime.

6..Nashville Hounds (15-1)** The Hounds make their return to the WL from USPL where they lost to MEM by the score of 20-6. All I ask from Denny is one thing - remove that damn Christmas hat from the Hound (put a Badger ball cap on him to give the team some dignity and pride). Knowing this group I do know they put a ton of time into each and every game and that hard work will no doubt show in their results. While they have the top back up guard in all of dot ball (sorry, have to plug my own dots while I can) the teams improvement through free agents make them a dangerous foe. While I'm not ready to put them into the Navs, [/DURF] and ESL class just yet - I would not be surprised if they are not fighting for a home field playoff game in round one.
Badger Prediction I think a few teams will battle for the four - six seeds and I fully expect the Hounds to be in the hunt for a home R1 game.

7..Queensland Exiles (14-2)** The Exiles come up to the WL after getting slapped around in the CPL final by the Bloodweiser Bugle All Stars (72-29). That may be the white flag being waved and a "we're just happy to be here." One thing I don't get - why in an Indian as their logo - I am not a Native American studies guy but it doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense to me - maybe someone can clue me in. Anyway, the team looks to have done some spring cleaning to their roster and for their sake it better be a good thing. They may want to rework some contracts as only 26 of their 51 players have trade clause - no clue why I added that up...
Badger Prediction I doubt this team will make a very good WL debut - head back north.

8..Gold Coast Vipers (14-2)** The Vipers make their initial WL appearance from OPL. I did the TMIM weekly write ups so I am somewhat familiar with this team. I won't lie or bullshit you here - I have no clue how the hell they beat the Eastern European Alliance 76-10 in the conference final (just seeing that now surprises the shit out of me as EEA was just pure dominance over there - having beaten the Vipers 66-34 in the regular season only to lose 76-10 in the playoffs - enough about EEA - I thought they were better and the Vipers are here). Not a huge fan of OPL - once WS, Mean Machine and a few others went away the conference just seemed out of whack a bit. I don't expect much from the Vipers - they are here, should be happy and should be proud they made it - hats off boys, impressive feat. Now, the reality will hit you in a few days of why you don't belong. Unless some guts occur this team will be one of the winless teams. Hey, I keep it real.

9..Lincoln Navigators 13-3 The Navs were trucking right along thinking about another shot at redemption against Vahalla . - who they happened to lose in the WL title tilt in S14. A little problem happened en-route to the hoe down - the Navs were tripped up in the second round by So Cal 45-41 - end of season, no shot at revenge. The Navs have to feel pretty damn good about the conference alignments - only a handful of teams stick out at you and say "damn, they are nice." The Navs are one of those teams and knowing Dave and Co. over there they will be in a position to get another shot at the WL gold. The Navs have an overall WL record of 68-8 and I cannot imagine that percentage dropping at all this year (BB going by Navs home page - way to lazy to add it up myself).
Badger Prediction I certainly peg the Navs as one of the top teams that will very well host a few playoff games. With their achilles heal out of the way they may take the opportunity to make another title appearance.

10.Speyside Whisky Dogs (13-3)** The Whisky Dogs embark (get it) on their WL debut from the WEPL where they lost a close game to Alpine (23-20). The team will have their entire roster in tact from last season but what troubles me is their losses last sesaon - Baden Bandits, Naples Purple Nurples and Parma Panthers. Hey, I'll admit, I don't know WEPL all that well but I figure if your getting beat down with a 13-3 record in a pro league your not going to have great success at the WL level.
Badger Prediction Take another drink, we'll land back in WEPL in no time.

11.Minneapolis Masterminds (13-3) I took great pleasure in having a hand in bouncing this team from the first round of the playoffs after the Shockers lost to them in the USPL title game in S14. You took my gold and I took your first WL playoff win - we're even! The Masterminds have retooled their roster and one thing that sticks out to me - the two Lv 61 OT's. I think that spells some trouble for their run and passing game. They also have a real young line backing core and they may really be hurting on D. While the Masterminds have had solid success in their first season of the WL I think some turbulent times are brewing in the Twin Cities.
Badger Prediction Not a big fan of their youth - and at the tackle spots to boot. I'll be curious how some of these WL ends stack up (ADD SACKS GIVEN UP AS A STAT FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!). If your O cannot move the ball and your D is giving it up a lot you can be in a world of hurt. Overall, I think they eek into the playoffs but not sure they get past the opening round.
12.East St Louis Tire Fires (13-3) Sometime you can look too good early on and have the brick shit house crumble down upon you. That's what happened to ESL last season - or at least in my eyes. Start off great - check; keep it close against the Blaze - check; lose to NBA Jam and QCBC - wtf; get tossed out of the first round by the Radicals - not entirely embarrassing but still a surprise and disappointment for a team that was thinking of getting to the WL title game. The squad hasn't lost a great many dots from last season but still have some additions to add. I'd like to think the team is out to prove they are more than a first round sweetheart and make a little noise.
Badger Prediction I think ESL is in store for another fine regular season but growing up in NW Wisconsin I loved hockey and I expect a hat trick - their third straight first round playoff loss - now, throw your hats on the ice bitches.

13.[HURF]ifax Explo[/DURF] (12-4) I'd normally bash these fuckers but after having a dot on their team last season my overall thoughts and opinions have changed - kind of one of those "if you only knew the guy/s" - they are a real solid group of guys and just "misunderstood." I have no clue what their name will be so I'll roll with "[/DURF]" for now. [/DURF] has been a consistent top GLB team for many seasons and I think the conference alignment favors a return to greatness for this team who lost in the second round of the playoffs last season. Down 3-2 to Valhalla . in WL championships - they are looking to even the score. I do think its observed on the board when Gart actually game plans the team is much better - he did take off to Vegas this past season and we were lost without his guidance.
Badger Prediction I'd say a definite team to be hosting a few playoff games and a shot to get back to the title game - not much in their way but there are more than speed bumps in front of them. The ho-hum regular season doesn't seem to affect these guys as they know they will be in the playoffs - they'll buckle down once game 16 is in the books.

14.Queen City Black Cats (11-5) QC was a bit hard to read last season - they'd lay a bunch of teams across their knees and do some spanking only to get it right back after a little streak. They didn't really carry the M.O. of losing to teams they should then beating the snot out of anyone. They really won and lost with no reason and the only two beat downs were to the Blaze and Wrath - hardly something to blush about. They've reloaded although I am a little hesitant to say it looks promising - its looks young on D and that could be trouble if the sim decides offenses can put up 100 ppg. I'm not sure their O will be able to keep up.
Badger Prediction As stated, I believe their D is way under leveled for a WL level team - hell, my AAA team has as many 62 and 63's (no doubt built better as well). I think they will be singing "O Canada" back to CPL.

15.Bonn Dynamo (11-5) Early on last season I though Bonn may disappear into the night without a peep. They rebounded nicely after a slow start (3-4) to finish at 11-5. Now, I don't know if that was their intestinal fortitude or just some luck in scheduling. Regardless, Bonn always seems to be a quiet group but they get the job done. They look to have done some major overhauling to their roster but I have no doubt its top not and the fact that this team has played for WL titles makes them a group not to dismiss.
Badger Prediction Bonn looks to have reloaded to make another run at a championship. I should say reloaded to play for another title as they only have one gold and three silvers. Expect them to be competing for home field for their round one playoff game but several obstacles will be in their way and if its like last season they will get in the playoffs with a slight limp to their step.

16.Moose Jaw Roughriders (10-6) I seem to recall thinking last season the Roughriders were dropping games on purpose just so they could avoid playing on the Valhalla side of the playoff bracket. I'll admit, I was wrong - they just were not that good. They did make the playoffs but lost in the first round to So Cal and closed out the season with a 1-4 mark. Not something to build on this season with. However, they didn't have much roster turnover so logically their dots from last year should be better.
Badger Prediction I do think this team will be better but I don't think they become a terror within the conference. I'd venture a wager that this season will be similar to last year where they start strong and finish with a dud - this time it will cost them a playoff spot.

1..Gunny Highway's Recon Platoon (16-0)** The Recon Platoon come into the WL from the SAPL where they finished with an 19-1 record - losing in the league title game to Cobra Kai (45-10). The strength of this team last season was their ground game but having Dublin in the SAPL I do know it was a rather weak conference from top to bottom so the rushing stats of their two star RB's are a bit misleading. They have a fairly youthful roster but I think in their best days they will end up back in the SAPL wondering how good they could have done in their primes. They may get steamrolled a lot this season and while they had little roster turnover I don't think having high chemistry in all three categories will really help this team. Gunny, expect to get busted down to PFC real quick.
Badger Prediction - while I have some love with the team being a Devil Dog myself I have to say this team is destined for the "one and done" WL stop.

2..Saigon Whores (16-0)** The Whores come into the WL as the SEPL champs as they beat the Tet Offenisve rather easily (55-22). Saigon was very successful last season as they played and beat several new and current WL teams - that's certainly a good sign of what the team should do. I expect them to be more than competitive and make a little noise as they make their first appearance in the WL. I think they will be here next season as they don't lose much from their roster last season and look to be ready to rock and roll against the bigs.
Badger Prediction - While I will bash most new teams I will avoid the taurran remarks (as I don't think highly of him) and say this team certainly has the talent to reach the playoffs.

3..The Evil Empire (16-0)** The Evil Empire are really in the WL by default - they lost their conference championship game to Alpine (47-45) and got the "free pass." Well, they might as well take their free pass back the WEPL. Before I get to harsh on them at least they accepted the challenge and stepped up - probably not the way they wanted to get in but they are here - I'd do the damn same thing. They did go 16-0 giving Alpine their only regular season loss and pushing them to the limit in the conference championship so its not like they are lame ducks but they are about to enter a shooting gallery. They didn't have a large roster turnover so they should do alright - alright won't get you into the playoffs.
Badger Prediction - While I started off bashing them I do think not winning your way in speaks volumes. They will struggle and be back in WEPL soon.

4..Atlantis Lost Souls (16-0)** The Lost Souls come up to the WL from OPL where they lost their league title game to the Gold Coast Vipers (48-20). As of time of print they only have 24 players on their roster and I suspect they will be hurting a bit as they appear to be a farm team and I'd expect them to fill out their roster with players not quite WL ready - I can relate but that still will result in a short appearance - take your bow and now hit the exit.
Badger Prediction - Don't know the team very well and I don't expect to know them much more than a season - I think Atlantis will find their lost souls back in OPL next season.

5..Valhalla . (16-0) 45 games and counting. I find it hard pressed with the parody in dot teams that a WL team will every be able to make the run they have for three straight seasons. Hell, I am talking like its over but until someone de-throwns the king their still the king. While the owner has lost several of his own dots who just dominated the team is not about to call it quits. Valhalla has merged with a few teams so I don't expect them to kick back on the bar stool and tell us how great they were. I'll have to see the roster to put a true measure on the team and at writing time they only have seven dots on their roster. TBH, a little surprised here as they don't show to have a ton of cash to sign a full roster and that could spell some trouble.
Badger Prediction - To be the best you have to beat the best - I think a few teams will be able to say that this season. While I don't think Valhalla . will become a shitty team overnight I do think they'll have several losses this season and not be the super dominate team of GLB. Time will tell and whenever I am wrong. No clue who they are bringing in but I expect them to be playoff ready and make a run at defending their three time WL crown. I gather from ear to ground there was a rage quit and this team will no longer be around - obviously replaced or at 0-16 but not going to change my earlier prediction - just lazy tbh).

6..Chocolate Blaze (16-0) I'd really toot this teams horn if it wasn't for a lot of "shady" moves they have made in recent memory...owners trading teams, top RB shows up on their roster on the trade deadline - what did it really spell for them = 59-90 LOSS...nice job Vahalla .. Even with the loss in the title game the Blaze figure to be one of the top teams but will never be the top if they cannot get the "Halla" monkey off their back. Listening to their owner (does the guy ever STFU???) this will be the down fall of "Halla" and the Blaze will take over as top dogs - I do think he made several statements heading into the WL title game this past season and as previously noted the score did not reflect his prophecy.
Badger Prediction - While I don't agree how they have "manipulated" the system I still wouldn't use that against them - they will be in the conference hunt all season long - will it be their year - probably not.

7..Minsk Ninjas (15-1)** The Ninjas move up to the BIG show by winning the EEPL league title - they beat the Kaunas Archangels in a very close ball game (23-20). A little tough to tell on the Ninjas right now as they only have 38 players on their roster. Generally, that's not a very good sign even though its only the first day of activity for the off season. Having Old School in EEPL I've concluded EEPL overall is not that strong. While OS has performed alri4ght we have not had a top tier team - either real old or young but generally you get a feel for the conference and I think this team will struggle a bit and be back to EEPL before dinner time.
Badger Prediction - Not a huge fan of EEPL overall - not great teams just some real solid ones. We had a "solid" Shocker team the season we were regulated. While the team is not full they will need to pull a recruiting coupe to win me over as I see them as a minor speed bump in the road who will win a few games and never beat the great teams.

8..Alpine (15-1)** Alphine comes in as OPL's champion as they defeated the Speyside Whiskies in a tight one (23-20). It took an act of God for this team to get to the WL. Well, maybe that's stretching it but it did take a league jump - from USPL to the good ole WEPL. I didn't realize admin was still allowing that - its a shame or they'd be playing another season in the USPL (if they'd have qualified for the playoffs that is). Alpine has flipped a lot of their roster so its tough seeing what they are trying to do. One thing is evident in my early look - they are either old or young along their roster right now and that simply spells a quick exit from the WL. Maybe they'll be sent back to the USPL.
Badger Prediction - You can say all you want as I know a few of you know this group but I simply cannot get over the fact that the team left USPL to go to a weaker league in order to qualify for the WL. Say what you will - that's the case - they never would have got my MEM or Nashville had they remained this past season - bush league in my book.

9..Nairobi Warthogs (14-2)** The Hogs are coming in from APL where they lost the league championship game to Steve's D9 team (35-10). I don't think its any secret that the Warthogs are a farm team for the Shockers. I think its pretty impressive getting your farm team to the top level in the game while continually giving up top players season after season. Andy runs a great program but he will be the first to admit we may not have the best talent and while solid probably not WL ready just yet, we have young talent and we're probably not as deep as we'd like to be. With that, I will find the Hogs making the playoffs but I expect them to battle it out each and every game. The big question mark will be can the new QB perform as Shocker General played last season?
Badger Prediction - I've experienced several times in my life the phrase "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" - or when I was living in Hawaii "don't bring anything to a gun fight" as I got shot at a few times in Honolulu in the wee hours of the morning several years ago. With that said, I'd like to think the Warhogs will compete but knowing our youth will serve against us I would be willing to wager a short stay and the first few games will certainly dictate the path of this team.

10.So Cal BDC (14-2) I think you could factor So Cal had one of the three or four best teams in dotball last season. Frankly, caught me a bit off guard but that's what gameplanning to the strength of the sim and your dots will do - hats off to BDC on their season last year. Now, I do see a rather young roster and I don't have that overall gut feeling this team will be as tough as they were last season. I'm seeing a ton of 61 and 62's filling out that roster on the roster flip and I'd say a season to early. They may be shortchanging themselves here and going a bit to young.
Badger Prediction - They may be strong and compete but I am not sold on real young teams coming in and kicking major ass. They may fight for a playoff spot but I really think they will come up short BADGER SUPRISE PREDICTION OF THE YEAR...I book them in the playoffs based off last season but depending on a few teams rosters I don't really think they knock on the playoff door although I will pick them as an eight seed below.

11.Kaunas Archangels (13-3)** The Archangels arrive to the WL fresh off a 23-20 loss in the EEPL championship game to Minsk. I'd really say this is a dark horse team to be here and certainly overachieved in the playoffs beating both the Stewart Ballers and Stryden Blitzkrieg Balls to get to the title game. I will note, both of those W's avenged regular season losses to the two teams. While this team may have gotten "lucky" to get here I certainly wouldn't say they were the best team in their own conference but they are here so they must be the best - I confuse myself sometimes - bear with me. Anyway, its midnight Cinderalla - return the glass slipper and slide back into the EEPL. They have a real young roster - I don't think they would win their old conference in EEPL this season...yeah, low blow on my part but true.
Badger Prediction - I don't think it will be real pretty - I don't expect this team to win but one or two games.

12.Warsaw Wrath (12-4) The Wrath should not be underestimated - they had a very solid season last year making it to the second round of the playoffs before the Blaze bounced them out - it was semi-close. The Wrath has flipped a significant part of their roster over and that may or not spell some problems. I don't think they will have an issue getting into the top eight but the youth on the roster may prevent them from getting to that second round once again. They are looking good so far but not a full roster at this point so its a little hard to pinpoint.
Badger Prediction - Just a wild guess on my part but I imagine they have a solid system in place so getting the rest of their roster up to speed won't be an issue. I don't see them as a top tier team but one that could go anywhere from six to eight in the playoff race.

13.Indianapolis Gurupies (11-5) The Gurupies had a nice little season last year finishing with a solid 11 wins before getting bounced in round one of the playoffs. They have a little left on their roster to spit out but the team should be fine as evidenced by their play the last several seasons. The team will be a tough out but not a real dominate force that some of the top tier teams will be.
Badger Prediction - This team reminds me of us last season - beat the teams is supposed to but lose to the teams that finished higher in the standings. Their roster is not complete but like Warsaw a team I expect to be in the playoff hunt throughout the season (and to make it!!).

14.Cincinnati Shockers (11-5) I thought we had a nice little return to the WL last season and I feel this is one of the strongest Shocker rosters in my "Shocker" memory. Certainly we play in the tougher conference (begin arguments) so we will be tested and tested often. Wow, I finish everyone and forget about us. We'll do our talking on the field!!!
Badger Prediction - Certainly this will have a hint of bias but I see this team as being in contention with the top teams in the conference.

15.NBA Jam (10-6) Not sure what to make of this team as it only has four players on it. I would imagine they are bringing some boys up and while I hate the name NBA Jam (hated the video game since I am the only one who can just out of the gym like that).
Badger Prediction - All I know right now is I hope the team has their loan option left and because if they don't it will take until ticket sales to get some cash to sign some players. No clue what their strategy is but I just don't think it looks promising right now. They are a team that will have to shit or get off the pot - if guys are not on teams they cannot train so waiting for ticket sales will be costly as well. Kind of reserve my right to re-do (which I won't) as this is a bit puzzling on what they are doing - doesn't appear well planned out (maybe jktooley can cue us in).

16.Mayan Prophecy (7-9) Mayan hung onto WL life by winning a tie breaker and being the only playoff team with a losing record. While that may seem crappy it should open some eyes to other teams who may want to give up after a few losses. Certainly, a very good feat being one of the top 16 team in all of GLB (yes, I realize there maybe some argument but the way I see it the WL is the best and consists of the top 32 teams - argue away). While the Prophecy may have snuck in last season I don't see a repeat performance keeping them with us long. They look to have a very young team and while I think their experience can come out on top of some of the newer conference teams I don't think they can flip their record and make the playoffs once again.
Badger Prediction - I will play a prophet here and say Mayan will get regulated after this season. While I fully expect the team to claw and fight like last season I do think they will come up on the short end of the stick this season.

1..Bloodweiser Bugle All Stars (16-0)** The All Stars make their trip up to the WL with a thrashing of the Queensland Exiles (72-29) in the CPL title. I don't know shit about this team other than the fact they did steamroll every opponent last season. Now, are they that talented or was CPL that shitty...the scales of justice are blind (yeah, right). I know its a little early but they do only have 41 dots on their team but will need to pull head from ass rather quickly - I do think their steamrolling days are long gone and the reality check will come rather quickly.
Badger Prediction Depending on how their roster fills out this teams history certainly indicates they can beat the shit out of shitty teams. Problem is, I don't see any shitty teams (well, maybe one or two or even three). Like with fat chicks - one and done.

3..District 9 Prawns** 16-0 The Prawns come in as APL champs as the beat the Warthogs of Nairobi 35-10. Having been associated with this group for several seasons the Prawns certainly boast one of their top rosters since I have been there. There has been substantial roster turnover from last year but all for the better. I don't think the D9 team will have a problem getting acclimated to the WL environment.
Badger Prediction I think D9 will wake up some of the long time WL powers with a little bell ringing and a loud "We're here and not going anywhere). Expect them to fight it out for a top four seed with a few other squads.

4..Tet Offensive (16-0)** Offensive makes a splash into the WL by way of SEAPL - now, they did lose their title game to the Saigon Whores by the score of 55-22...they were not very offensive (sorry, couldn't resist). They looked to have flipped a great deal of their roster and I am not a fan of their young backs (their #2 and #3 RB's - hey, the starter can't play all game). Not saying they have not played great up to this point or will do good things I do think it will be a struggle for them this season, however. With that alone the O may indeed struggle and when the O struggles in the WL the team struggles. This team may be able to shake it off and push for a playoff birth.
Badger Prediction I think this team could flirt with a playoff spot and pull a surprise of two out of their hat.

5..Monmouth Evil Monkeys (15-1)** MEM gets their return to WL with a win over the Hounds in the USPL title game. I do think MEM thought they would be here last season so they may have learned some patience (cue Axel). Coach Packer has fielded some very good teams in his day but one thing I don't like about this MEM team is the youth I'm seeing. If my math is right (and I'm no math guy) 21 of the current 48 players are 63 or under with most being in the 61 range. I was part of the Shocker team who went young and it wasn't a real good season. I think this youth movement would have best been served in the USPL as this isn't Kansas anymore Dorothy.
Badger Prediction While MEM is generally a tough beat I just don't think their youth will prevail this season - they can get a season of experience next year in USPL and be back in time for the WL in their prime.

6..Nashville Hounds (15-1)** The Hounds make their return to the WL from USPL where they lost to MEM by the score of 20-6. All I ask from Denny is one thing - remove that damn Christmas hat from the Hound (put a Badger ball cap on him to give the team some dignity and pride). Knowing this group I do know they put a ton of time into each and every game and that hard work will no doubt show in their results. While they have the top back up guard in all of dot ball (sorry, have to plug my own dots while I can) the teams improvement through free agents make them a dangerous foe. While I'm not ready to put them into the Navs, [/DURF] and ESL class just yet - I would not be surprised if they are not fighting for a home field playoff game in round one.
Badger Prediction I think a few teams will battle for the four - six seeds and I fully expect the Hounds to be in the hunt for a home R1 game.

7..Queensland Exiles (14-2)** The Exiles come up to the WL after getting slapped around in the CPL final by the Bloodweiser Bugle All Stars (72-29). That may be the white flag being waved and a "we're just happy to be here." One thing I don't get - why in an Indian as their logo - I am not a Native American studies guy but it doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense to me - maybe someone can clue me in. Anyway, the team looks to have done some spring cleaning to their roster and for their sake it better be a good thing. They may want to rework some contracts as only 26 of their 51 players have trade clause - no clue why I added that up...
Badger Prediction I doubt this team will make a very good WL debut - head back north.

8..Gold Coast Vipers (14-2)** The Vipers make their initial WL appearance from OPL. I did the TMIM weekly write ups so I am somewhat familiar with this team. I won't lie or bullshit you here - I have no clue how the hell they beat the Eastern European Alliance 76-10 in the conference final (just seeing that now surprises the shit out of me as EEA was just pure dominance over there - having beaten the Vipers 66-34 in the regular season only to lose 76-10 in the playoffs - enough about EEA - I thought they were better and the Vipers are here). Not a huge fan of OPL - once WS, Mean Machine and a few others went away the conference just seemed out of whack a bit. I don't expect much from the Vipers - they are here, should be happy and should be proud they made it - hats off boys, impressive feat. Now, the reality will hit you in a few days of why you don't belong. Unless some guts occur this team will be one of the winless teams. Hey, I keep it real.

9..Lincoln Navigators 13-3 The Navs were trucking right along thinking about another shot at redemption against Vahalla . - who they happened to lose in the WL title tilt in S14. A little problem happened en-route to the hoe down - the Navs were tripped up in the second round by So Cal 45-41 - end of season, no shot at revenge. The Navs have to feel pretty damn good about the conference alignments - only a handful of teams stick out at you and say "damn, they are nice." The Navs are one of those teams and knowing Dave and Co. over there they will be in a position to get another shot at the WL gold. The Navs have an overall WL record of 68-8 and I cannot imagine that percentage dropping at all this year (BB going by Navs home page - way to lazy to add it up myself).
Badger Prediction I certainly peg the Navs as one of the top teams that will very well host a few playoff games. With their achilles heal out of the way they may take the opportunity to make another title appearance.

10.Speyside Whisky Dogs (13-3)** The Whisky Dogs embark (get it) on their WL debut from the WEPL where they lost a close game to Alpine (23-20). The team will have their entire roster in tact from last season but what troubles me is their losses last sesaon - Baden Bandits, Naples Purple Nurples and Parma Panthers. Hey, I'll admit, I don't know WEPL all that well but I figure if your getting beat down with a 13-3 record in a pro league your not going to have great success at the WL level.
Badger Prediction Take another drink, we'll land back in WEPL in no time.

11.Minneapolis Masterminds (13-3) I took great pleasure in having a hand in bouncing this team from the first round of the playoffs after the Shockers lost to them in the USPL title game in S14. You took my gold and I took your first WL playoff win - we're even! The Masterminds have retooled their roster and one thing that sticks out to me - the two Lv 61 OT's. I think that spells some trouble for their run and passing game. They also have a real young line backing core and they may really be hurting on D. While the Masterminds have had solid success in their first season of the WL I think some turbulent times are brewing in the Twin Cities.
Badger Prediction Not a big fan of their youth - and at the tackle spots to boot. I'll be curious how some of these WL ends stack up (ADD SACKS GIVEN UP AS A STAT FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!). If your O cannot move the ball and your D is giving it up a lot you can be in a world of hurt. Overall, I think they eek into the playoffs but not sure they get past the opening round.
12.East St Louis Tire Fires (13-3) Sometime you can look too good early on and have the brick shit house crumble down upon you. That's what happened to ESL last season - or at least in my eyes. Start off great - check; keep it close against the Blaze - check; lose to NBA Jam and QCBC - wtf; get tossed out of the first round by the Radicals - not entirely embarrassing but still a surprise and disappointment for a team that was thinking of getting to the WL title game. The squad hasn't lost a great many dots from last season but still have some additions to add. I'd like to think the team is out to prove they are more than a first round sweetheart and make a little noise.
Badger Prediction I think ESL is in store for another fine regular season but growing up in NW Wisconsin I loved hockey and I expect a hat trick - their third straight first round playoff loss - now, throw your hats on the ice bitches.

13.[HURF]ifax Explo[/DURF] (12-4) I'd normally bash these fuckers but after having a dot on their team last season my overall thoughts and opinions have changed - kind of one of those "if you only knew the guy/s" - they are a real solid group of guys and just "misunderstood." I have no clue what their name will be so I'll roll with "[/DURF]" for now. [/DURF] has been a consistent top GLB team for many seasons and I think the conference alignment favors a return to greatness for this team who lost in the second round of the playoffs last season. Down 3-2 to Valhalla . in WL championships - they are looking to even the score. I do think its observed on the board when Gart actually game plans the team is much better - he did take off to Vegas this past season and we were lost without his guidance.
Badger Prediction I'd say a definite team to be hosting a few playoff games and a shot to get back to the title game - not much in their way but there are more than speed bumps in front of them. The ho-hum regular season doesn't seem to affect these guys as they know they will be in the playoffs - they'll buckle down once game 16 is in the books.

14.Queen City Black Cats (11-5) QC was a bit hard to read last season - they'd lay a bunch of teams across their knees and do some spanking only to get it right back after a little streak. They didn't really carry the M.O. of losing to teams they should then beating the snot out of anyone. They really won and lost with no reason and the only two beat downs were to the Blaze and Wrath - hardly something to blush about. They've reloaded although I am a little hesitant to say it looks promising - its looks young on D and that could be trouble if the sim decides offenses can put up 100 ppg. I'm not sure their O will be able to keep up.
Badger Prediction As stated, I believe their D is way under leveled for a WL level team - hell, my AAA team has as many 62 and 63's (no doubt built better as well). I think they will be singing "O Canada" back to CPL.

15.Bonn Dynamo (11-5) Early on last season I though Bonn may disappear into the night without a peep. They rebounded nicely after a slow start (3-4) to finish at 11-5. Now, I don't know if that was their intestinal fortitude or just some luck in scheduling. Regardless, Bonn always seems to be a quiet group but they get the job done. They look to have done some major overhauling to their roster but I have no doubt its top not and the fact that this team has played for WL titles makes them a group not to dismiss.
Badger Prediction Bonn looks to have reloaded to make another run at a championship. I should say reloaded to play for another title as they only have one gold and three silvers. Expect them to be competing for home field for their round one playoff game but several obstacles will be in their way and if its like last season they will get in the playoffs with a slight limp to their step.

16.Moose Jaw Roughriders (10-6) I seem to recall thinking last season the Roughriders were dropping games on purpose just so they could avoid playing on the Valhalla side of the playoff bracket. I'll admit, I was wrong - they just were not that good. They did make the playoffs but lost in the first round to So Cal and closed out the season with a 1-4 mark. Not something to build on this season with. However, they didn't have much roster turnover so logically their dots from last year should be better.
Badger Prediction I do think this team will be better but I don't think they become a terror within the conference. I'd venture a wager that this season will be similar to last year where they start strong and finish with a dud - this time it will cost them a playoff spot.

1..Gunny Highway's Recon Platoon (16-0)** The Recon Platoon come into the WL from the SAPL where they finished with an 19-1 record - losing in the league title game to Cobra Kai (45-10). The strength of this team last season was their ground game but having Dublin in the SAPL I do know it was a rather weak conference from top to bottom so the rushing stats of their two star RB's are a bit misleading. They have a fairly youthful roster but I think in their best days they will end up back in the SAPL wondering how good they could have done in their primes. They may get steamrolled a lot this season and while they had little roster turnover I don't think having high chemistry in all three categories will really help this team. Gunny, expect to get busted down to PFC real quick.
Badger Prediction - while I have some love with the team being a Devil Dog myself I have to say this team is destined for the "one and done" WL stop.

2..Saigon Whores (16-0)** The Whores come into the WL as the SEPL champs as they beat the Tet Offenisve rather easily (55-22). Saigon was very successful last season as they played and beat several new and current WL teams - that's certainly a good sign of what the team should do. I expect them to be more than competitive and make a little noise as they make their first appearance in the WL. I think they will be here next season as they don't lose much from their roster last season and look to be ready to rock and roll against the bigs.
Badger Prediction - While I will bash most new teams I will avoid the taurran remarks (as I don't think highly of him) and say this team certainly has the talent to reach the playoffs.

3..The Evil Empire (16-0)** The Evil Empire are really in the WL by default - they lost their conference championship game to Alpine (47-45) and got the "free pass." Well, they might as well take their free pass back the WEPL. Before I get to harsh on them at least they accepted the challenge and stepped up - probably not the way they wanted to get in but they are here - I'd do the damn same thing. They did go 16-0 giving Alpine their only regular season loss and pushing them to the limit in the conference championship so its not like they are lame ducks but they are about to enter a shooting gallery. They didn't have a large roster turnover so they should do alright - alright won't get you into the playoffs.
Badger Prediction - While I started off bashing them I do think not winning your way in speaks volumes. They will struggle and be back in WEPL soon.

4..Atlantis Lost Souls (16-0)** The Lost Souls come up to the WL from OPL where they lost their league title game to the Gold Coast Vipers (48-20). As of time of print they only have 24 players on their roster and I suspect they will be hurting a bit as they appear to be a farm team and I'd expect them to fill out their roster with players not quite WL ready - I can relate but that still will result in a short appearance - take your bow and now hit the exit.
Badger Prediction - Don't know the team very well and I don't expect to know them much more than a season - I think Atlantis will find their lost souls back in OPL next season.

5..Valhalla . (16-0) 45 games and counting. I find it hard pressed with the parody in dot teams that a WL team will every be able to make the run they have for three straight seasons. Hell, I am talking like its over but until someone de-throwns the king their still the king. While the owner has lost several of his own dots who just dominated the team is not about to call it quits. Valhalla has merged with a few teams so I don't expect them to kick back on the bar stool and tell us how great they were. I'll have to see the roster to put a true measure on the team and at writing time they only have seven dots on their roster. TBH, a little surprised here as they don't show to have a ton of cash to sign a full roster and that could spell some trouble.
Badger Prediction - To be the best you have to beat the best - I think a few teams will be able to say that this season. While I don't think Valhalla . will become a shitty team overnight I do think they'll have several losses this season and not be the super dominate team of GLB. Time will tell and whenever I am wrong. No clue who they are bringing in but I expect them to be playoff ready and make a run at defending their three time WL crown. I gather from ear to ground there was a rage quit and this team will no longer be around - obviously replaced or at 0-16 but not going to change my earlier prediction - just lazy tbh).

6..Chocolate Blaze (16-0) I'd really toot this teams horn if it wasn't for a lot of "shady" moves they have made in recent memory...owners trading teams, top RB shows up on their roster on the trade deadline - what did it really spell for them = 59-90 LOSS...nice job Vahalla .. Even with the loss in the title game the Blaze figure to be one of the top teams but will never be the top if they cannot get the "Halla" monkey off their back. Listening to their owner (does the guy ever STFU???) this will be the down fall of "Halla" and the Blaze will take over as top dogs - I do think he made several statements heading into the WL title game this past season and as previously noted the score did not reflect his prophecy.
Badger Prediction - While I don't agree how they have "manipulated" the system I still wouldn't use that against them - they will be in the conference hunt all season long - will it be their year - probably not.

7..Minsk Ninjas (15-1)** The Ninjas move up to the BIG show by winning the EEPL league title - they beat the Kaunas Archangels in a very close ball game (23-20). A little tough to tell on the Ninjas right now as they only have 38 players on their roster. Generally, that's not a very good sign even though its only the first day of activity for the off season. Having Old School in EEPL I've concluded EEPL overall is not that strong. While OS has performed alri4ght we have not had a top tier team - either real old or young but generally you get a feel for the conference and I think this team will struggle a bit and be back to EEPL before dinner time.
Badger Prediction - Not a huge fan of EEPL overall - not great teams just some real solid ones. We had a "solid" Shocker team the season we were regulated. While the team is not full they will need to pull a recruiting coupe to win me over as I see them as a minor speed bump in the road who will win a few games and never beat the great teams.

8..Alpine (15-1)** Alphine comes in as OPL's champion as they defeated the Speyside Whiskies in a tight one (23-20). It took an act of God for this team to get to the WL. Well, maybe that's stretching it but it did take a league jump - from USPL to the good ole WEPL. I didn't realize admin was still allowing that - its a shame or they'd be playing another season in the USPL (if they'd have qualified for the playoffs that is). Alpine has flipped a lot of their roster so its tough seeing what they are trying to do. One thing is evident in my early look - they are either old or young along their roster right now and that simply spells a quick exit from the WL. Maybe they'll be sent back to the USPL.
Badger Prediction - You can say all you want as I know a few of you know this group but I simply cannot get over the fact that the team left USPL to go to a weaker league in order to qualify for the WL. Say what you will - that's the case - they never would have got my MEM or Nashville had they remained this past season - bush league in my book.

9..Nairobi Warthogs (14-2)** The Hogs are coming in from APL where they lost the league championship game to Steve's D9 team (35-10). I don't think its any secret that the Warthogs are a farm team for the Shockers. I think its pretty impressive getting your farm team to the top level in the game while continually giving up top players season after season. Andy runs a great program but he will be the first to admit we may not have the best talent and while solid probably not WL ready just yet, we have young talent and we're probably not as deep as we'd like to be. With that, I will find the Hogs making the playoffs but I expect them to battle it out each and every game. The big question mark will be can the new QB perform as Shocker General played last season?
Badger Prediction - I've experienced several times in my life the phrase "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" - or when I was living in Hawaii "don't bring anything to a gun fight" as I got shot at a few times in Honolulu in the wee hours of the morning several years ago. With that said, I'd like to think the Warhogs will compete but knowing our youth will serve against us I would be willing to wager a short stay and the first few games will certainly dictate the path of this team.

10.So Cal BDC (14-2) I think you could factor So Cal had one of the three or four best teams in dotball last season. Frankly, caught me a bit off guard but that's what gameplanning to the strength of the sim and your dots will do - hats off to BDC on their season last year. Now, I do see a rather young roster and I don't have that overall gut feeling this team will be as tough as they were last season. I'm seeing a ton of 61 and 62's filling out that roster on the roster flip and I'd say a season to early. They may be shortchanging themselves here and going a bit to young.
Badger Prediction - They may be strong and compete but I am not sold on real young teams coming in and kicking major ass. They may fight for a playoff spot but I really think they will come up short BADGER SUPRISE PREDICTION OF THE YEAR...I book them in the playoffs based off last season but depending on a few teams rosters I don't really think they knock on the playoff door although I will pick them as an eight seed below.

11.Kaunas Archangels (13-3)** The Archangels arrive to the WL fresh off a 23-20 loss in the EEPL championship game to Minsk. I'd really say this is a dark horse team to be here and certainly overachieved in the playoffs beating both the Stewart Ballers and Stryden Blitzkrieg Balls to get to the title game. I will note, both of those W's avenged regular season losses to the two teams. While this team may have gotten "lucky" to get here I certainly wouldn't say they were the best team in their own conference but they are here so they must be the best - I confuse myself sometimes - bear with me. Anyway, its midnight Cinderalla - return the glass slipper and slide back into the EEPL. They have a real young roster - I don't think they would win their old conference in EEPL this season...yeah, low blow on my part but true.
Badger Prediction - I don't think it will be real pretty - I don't expect this team to win but one or two games.

12.Warsaw Wrath (12-4) The Wrath should not be underestimated - they had a very solid season last year making it to the second round of the playoffs before the Blaze bounced them out - it was semi-close. The Wrath has flipped a significant part of their roster over and that may or not spell some problems. I don't think they will have an issue getting into the top eight but the youth on the roster may prevent them from getting to that second round once again. They are looking good so far but not a full roster at this point so its a little hard to pinpoint.
Badger Prediction - Just a wild guess on my part but I imagine they have a solid system in place so getting the rest of their roster up to speed won't be an issue. I don't see them as a top tier team but one that could go anywhere from six to eight in the playoff race.

13.Indianapolis Gurupies (11-5) The Gurupies had a nice little season last year finishing with a solid 11 wins before getting bounced in round one of the playoffs. They have a little left on their roster to spit out but the team should be fine as evidenced by their play the last several seasons. The team will be a tough out but not a real dominate force that some of the top tier teams will be.
Badger Prediction - This team reminds me of us last season - beat the teams is supposed to but lose to the teams that finished higher in the standings. Their roster is not complete but like Warsaw a team I expect to be in the playoff hunt throughout the season (and to make it!!).

14.Cincinnati Shockers (11-5) I thought we had a nice little return to the WL last season and I feel this is one of the strongest Shocker rosters in my "Shocker" memory. Certainly we play in the tougher conference (begin arguments) so we will be tested and tested often. Wow, I finish everyone and forget about us. We'll do our talking on the field!!!
Badger Prediction - Certainly this will have a hint of bias but I see this team as being in contention with the top teams in the conference.

15.NBA Jam (10-6) Not sure what to make of this team as it only has four players on it. I would imagine they are bringing some boys up and while I hate the name NBA Jam (hated the video game since I am the only one who can just out of the gym like that).
Badger Prediction - All I know right now is I hope the team has their loan option left and because if they don't it will take until ticket sales to get some cash to sign some players. No clue what their strategy is but I just don't think it looks promising right now. They are a team that will have to shit or get off the pot - if guys are not on teams they cannot train so waiting for ticket sales will be costly as well. Kind of reserve my right to re-do (which I won't) as this is a bit puzzling on what they are doing - doesn't appear well planned out (maybe jktooley can cue us in).

16.Mayan Prophecy (7-9) Mayan hung onto WL life by winning a tie breaker and being the only playoff team with a losing record. While that may seem crappy it should open some eyes to other teams who may want to give up after a few losses. Certainly, a very good feat being one of the top 16 team in all of GLB (yes, I realize there maybe some argument but the way I see it the WL is the best and consists of the top 32 teams - argue away). While the Prophecy may have snuck in last season I don't see a repeat performance keeping them with us long. They look to have a very young team and while I think their experience can come out on top of some of the newer conference teams I don't think they can flip their record and make the playoffs once again.
Badger Prediction - I will play a prophet here and say Mayan will get regulated after this season. While I fully expect the team to claw and fight like last season I do think they will come up on the short end of the stick this season.
