true. not a great sign. next season probably will also be boring forumwise because everyone will be trying to figure out how to game the new systems and new sim. after that initial novelty wears off it'll go back to what it is now interest level. They really didn't add anything new to the game that's actually fun. Just more work to figure out and coordinate. Once people figure out how to implement them, it'll be the same. Still waiting for fun things

What kind of things would you suggest they add, in all seriousness, that you would consider fun?

What kind of things would you suggest they add, in all seriousness, that you would consider fun?

Well, i was suggesting in previous seasons in various threads about player cash and stuff like that to be able to do non-sim related player customization. Of course not everyone would utilize it fully because they want to ensure nothing but sim success but i felt that many casual agents, new agents and player only agents would enjoy it. It would hopefully start with better replays and then you can add customization to your player with non-sim rpg elements, change the way he looks on the field, little "collect them all" kinda things that you can unlock via performance on the field or mini-games and some other stuff. I thought player cash and to an extent team cash could be used for this.

I mean, what owner wouldn't enjoy customizing the team more. Put in easier ways to make fields/helmets/logos or other team functions that show up in the new flash replays on the field (but don't directly effect the sim). I mean, Cav had a bunch of fun adjusting Alpine's new logo and fiddling with it this season. There have to be other applications that work.

Obviously the core of the game would be the main sim but if you want players to have more things to do so they don't get bored, why not allow them some goofy collector type things. I mean, RPGs have a main quest and even side quests but a lot of potential hours logged are spent by people trying to be completion or hunt for useless (in terms of main story) treasures and crap like that to unlock something.


There are i'm sure a lot of other things but i haven't really thought deeply about it. Also, it's why i figure an experience professional game designer would be nice. Someone who has worked on MMOs and/or sports games before. Someone who could figure stuff out better.

I always wondered why Bort was adding new leagues and teams from season 3 to 10. Even I could see then that GLB was not growing as much as s1-3. But I do recall, he used a script to find out how many active FA's were out there during the offseason, while not taking into account that 80% of these FA's had shit builds so they would not have found a team, anyway.

Conclusion: I guess Bort got greedy by adding more and more teams after each new season, when it was not necessary.

I've been suggesting for many seasons that Bort contract with someone to create flash mini-games that you can play based on your individual player attributes. Sort of like the Madden stuff you can do. So CBs could do pass deflection drills, etc. Of course I realize that is much easier said than done, but it would just be nice to hear that they're trying to find someone who can do that sort of thing.

i dunno. i think the fun and novelty of "zany off topic" posts/threads has worn off and people got tired of it. I know there are a lot of posters from other webcommunities where people are very concerned with attempting to win at the internet but the glb goofiness just wore out. Not to mention that coordinating/recruiting/figuring out how to game the sim every season has been a lot more work since season9 and on. That and people are just overall kinda bored with GLB compared to 5 seasons ago at least

Yea, i also just think 15seasons and over 2 years of GLB slowly wears thin with no real changes. Even with the 3changes coming up it's pretty much the same thing. I think making significantly better replays, better team/player aesthetic customization would really go a long way to breathing new life into the game and making it fun to follow. Can't believe we're still looking at the crappy replays from season 1 only with qb lasers and little text
