Philadelphia has had a good season up to this point. They are currently on a two game win streak after beating Ottawa in a defensive struggle. Many experts still have not bought into the Pigeon team. They still have some tough games ahead, but when all the dust settle the Pigeons will find themselves secure in the playoffs. They are looking to give Awesomeville their first two game losing streak. They will still surprise some teams and crap all over their cars, but Awesomeville will bring their BB guns and shoot the Pigeons out of the sky.

Damn BB guns!

Tana River, Alaska (AP): With five weeks left in the season, teams are wrestling for playoff spots. Both conferences will have a tough battle for the lower seeds. In the West, four teams are sitting ahead of the pack. In the east five teams have a cushion of at least two games. Last season came down to the final game of the season for the West.

The West playoff picture is murky. Possum Trot, Los Angeles, Eugene and Long Beach are all sitting at 7-4 on the season. Chicago is also burning bright. They are a step behind at this point, but their remaining schedule is favorable. With these five teams battling for playoff spots, a .500 record may not be enough to secure a playoff spot. Eugene and Long Beach start the race to the playoffs. The winner takes a big leap towards the playoffs while the loser slips downhill and makes their climb a little harder.

The East gives us the game of the week. The battle of the unbeatens commences when Tecmo travels to New Jersey. Many experts did not foresee this as the biggest game of the season. There have already been some good match-ups, but rarely do two teams win their first eleven games. Tecmo brings a strong offense into New Jersey. They are among the leaders in both running and passing. They also lead their conference in both defending the run and pass. New Jersey will have to rely on a good passing game to try and dent Tecmo's armor. Both teams fair well in forcing turnovers. They are the top two teams in making interceptions. The biggest advantage New Jersey has is nobody wants to go to New Jersey. Tecmo is no different. This could work for or against the Blaze. Tecmo may be pissed and play poor or they may just remain more focused as there is nothing around to distract them. Either way, the victor of this game should seize the top seed for the playoffs.

Tana River, Alaska (AP): This week the Eastern Conference does not bring us very many exciting games. It mainly matches up the haves vs the have nots. There are two games to note though. One has is the only game with playoff implications, the other may be interesting for another reason. The West brings us three games where possible playoff teams fight it out.

The only game that has much on the line in the East is when 10-Yard Fight host Bonita Beef Supreme. Bonita is currently 6-6 while the Fight sport the record of 5-7. It will be difficult for any team with a .500 record to make the playoffs. This means the Fight must win out or go home. These two teams match up well on paper. Bonita brings are higher powered offense into the game while the Fight have the better defense. History has shown a good defense can shut down a good offense. Look for that to be the case in this game as the Fight try to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The other Eastern game that may, or probably not, interest some people is when the two New Jersey teams meet up. The Blaze travel to the FalCoons. To make it interesting, I think the teams should battle to see who gets to stay in New Jersey. This would be similar to the fight for Long Beach that took place earlier in the season. I purpose a twist to this though. The winner should be allowed to leave the state and find a better place to call home. That would be a fitting reward for the Blaze players after the success they have enjoyed this season.

The West is still far from won, at least for determining who the last four teams in the playoffs will be. Currently the top four teams have a little cushion over the bottom four. This could certainly change in the final couple games. This week could make it more interesting. Three teams are sitting at 8-4 with one at 7-5. Each of these teams have difficult games this week. There is a chance all four teams will be at 8-5 when all is done today. The Inferno are also in the mix. They currently sit at 6-6, but could make a run to finish out the season and steal a playoff birth away from one of the other teams.

The Western game with the most on the line is when the Express travel north to battle the Slugs of Eugene. Recently the Los Angeles running back has started to lobby for MVP recognition. It takes more than talk to win the MVP and Letizia will get his chance to back it up these next four games. Los Angeles has one of the toughest remaining schedules. If they can get by the Slugs today, they are all but in the playoffs. After dropping a tough fought battle to Long Beach, the Slugs could use a win. As their final game of the season is against the New Jersey Blaze, they are hoping to secure a playoff birth before that. A victory today would go a long way. It will be interesting to see if they can derail Letizia and the Express. The little guys from Eugene has surprise many and could do it again today.

Tana River, Alaska (AP): The playoffs are fast approaching. Some teams have secured their seeds while others continue to battle. In the East, Tecmo and New Jersey have secured the first and second seed, baring some major upsets. In the West, Honolulu, Timpanogos, and Tana River have secured the top three seeds, respectively. The Chihuahuas still need to win one of their remaining three to secure the fourth seed. After this the playoff picture starts to get murky. Looking into the muddy pool, seven teams own a record of 8-5. After these teams, there are a few others with legitimate shots of stealing a playoff birth.

In the West, two teams felt like they would do much better this season. Los Angeles was projected to be a top four seed. Throughout the season they have struggled. Their longest win streak has been three games. They are looking stronger now as they need to play better to secure a playoff spot. They are not in panic mode yet, as they sit on an 8-5 record. Their final three games are all against playoff bound teams. To make sure they secure a spot, they must win at least one of these games.

Long Beach is another team many felt would challenge for a top four seed. They also have not put together more than a three game win streak. The remaining schedule for Long Beach is much easier than Los Angeles. Only one playoff bound team remains. Unless two major upsets occur, Long Beach will be in the playoffs.

Chicago is on the outside looking in. They sit with a 7-6 record. The experts have predicted they will finish the final three games with a 2-1 record to give them an overall record of 9-7. Their only real chance of making the playoffs then is if Los Angeles drops at least one of their games. Earlier in the season, Chicago went to LA and left with a victory. If the two teams end with a tie record, Chicago will win the tie break.

The Eastern playoff hunt doesn't look as complicated on the surface. Eight teams make the playoffs, eight teams have winning records. Pretty cut and dry. There is a wrinkle though. The 10-Yard Fight travel to Tampa Bay to battle the Krakens. Currently Tampa Bay has a one game lead on the Fight. If the Fight can win this game, the two teams will own the same 7-7 record. Tampa Bay will have to play well as the Fight have come on strong lately. After this game, the Fight have a difficult game against FC Hezbollah. Tampa Bay has a difficult intra-conference game against Honolulu. This is an important game for both teams. The Fight is this writer's dark horse.

The biggest game of the week doesn't involve any of these teams. This is a highly anticipated game. The Chicago vs Possum Trot game has been bumped from their TV slot so more viewers can tune in. Tickets are hot for this game. People are paying five times the face value for tickets. Lakewood makes the journey to Montana for the epic battle of the Lancers and the Crow. Recently the Crow have hired some outside help from one of the best BBB 12 general managers from the Beach Boys. The Lancers are fighting back with help from the Dub All-Stars. Forget the thirty-one game losing streak. Forget the eight game losing streak. Everything comes down to this one game. This will determine the season for these two teams. A Crow player was contacted, but asked to remain anonymous. His voice full of excitement, “This is the reason I got into football. Some people think it is for all the hoes and drugs, I mean that all nice, but this is real football. This is what dreams are made of.” The Lancers have remained quiet and determined. Look for a hard fought battle, one to tell the grandkids about.
