My SS at 70 should look like this:
90.09 speed (+all equip, so about 132)
83.02 tackling
82.02 strength
73.02 vision
66.54 agility
+ SAs monster hit, super vision to 10 with aeq

seek and destroy pew pew
in reality it'll probably be better than that, I get impatient with the player builder and forget to change my training (lol)

To those arguing against speed, my FS clocks 42.5 on the speed script here. Let me ask you a question. Do you think he makes this play if he is trotting around at about 30 speed?

anybody saying speed isn't good/necessary for a safety doesn't know what they're talking about, it's safe to say

Yeah, your idea of "getting torched" differs from just about everyone. How was the safety "faked out" as you put it in the play? If you are going to question my credentials, which is kind of funny, then what credentials do you have? Your guy plays in US Pro? Awesome, a safety I retired used to play in Canadian Pro so I must have done something right. I am not going to get out the ruler with you however you have spit out numbers like 74/68/68 quite often... when are those numbers to be achieved? You mentioned the new players, well, give them more feedback than simply putting down 74/68/68. What do those numbers mean? When should they be reached? Why? How? TIA & HTH

I'll let everyone else decide on whether my idea of getting torched differs from theirs, but if you actually think that

A. Your safety didn't get faked here: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=917398&pbp_id=14309425

and

B. A safety with more speed/vision doesn't routinely make that play

then I have no idea what to do for you, because we are obviously living in different realities.

I actually have never spit out the numbers 74/68/68--others have, and I would agree that that's the absolute minimum for a new safety today, but if I was slowbuilding a SS from scratch, this would be my training plan, assuming all the basic slowbuilding things like training to 95%+:

1. Roll a Max Height/Min Height safety with 25 speed on day 41.
2. Train speed on normal with shopping tokens. Cap at 49.
3. Intense train agility/vision while 61-capping speed.
4. Intense train agility/vision while 68-capping speed.
5. Intense train agility/vision while 74-capping speed.
6. Intense train agility/tackling while 49-capping vision.
7. Intense train agility/vision while 77-capping speed.
8. Intense train agility/tackling while 61-capping vision.
9. Intense train agility/tackling while 68-capping vision.
10. Intense train agility/tackling while 74-capping vision.
11. Intense train strength/tackling while 49-capping agility.
12. Intense train strength/tackling while 60-capping agility.
13. Intense train strength/tackling while 68-capping agility.
14. Intense train strength/jumping while 49-capping tackling.
15. Intense train strength/jumping while 60-capping tackling.
16. Intense train jumping/catching while 48-capping strength.

At this point, work on SAs (Super Vision and Change Direction), and capping stamina, confidence, and jumping in whatever order you want, because the differences in SP value are minimal anyway.

"Getting torched" means getting beat while in coverage. The guy in that play stiff armed my safety, possibly due to my strength, who knows. Also, you leave out key information as that HB is a full 10 levels above my safety. That is 50+ skill points. There is a chance in the roll that my safety or any safety could have made the tackle but a good 75% of the time, if not higher, that HB gets by a safety that he outlevels by 10 levels. Does a safety at level 49 with more speed/vision make that tackle... answer is no. 25% of the time a safety may make that tackle and that is being generous. Thanks for playing.

There's also a chance that your safety sucks. And if it was a Stiff Arm, the PBP would say. And way to pull 25% out of your ass.

I'd say it's more like a 97.3% chance.

I love that your argument is that you can't bring them up to 74 because your other skills will suffer, while you're running around with 2 safeties that have missed over 15% of their tackles combined and only have 5 picks total. So your guys aren't fast, can't tackle, and aren't ball hawks. What do they do?

He thinks his players are great. A lot of people think that. There's a reason why the team he's on loses and his players dont do anything other than make routine tackles. He'll never accept it though. Who cares.

i myself consider fs and ss 2 totally different positions

that being said all your problems are solved with change direction...agility auto level ups aint that great compared to speed and vision

idiot post of the week. He was not stiff armed, are you a newb? a player with 10 levels on your safety is 50, not 50+. they are not getting extra SPs from the tooth fairy. and my favorite the random percentages pulled out of your ass.... "thanks for playing"

50 skill points and the + is due to the extra training skill points from the older player. Also the + stands for the equipment skill points that are added at 56. Sorry I did not spell out what the + means before hand but I figured it would be understood. Your first sentence of "Idiot post of the week" was rather prophetic.

My guys are plenty fast. Do you not look at the competition a player is playing against before you evaluate them? The team I am on is not built to win but made to build as it is a World League farm team. Thanks for playing.
