Through 5 pages of project, I'm not sure whether I've missed it, but I think passing, like running is a total AI effort. There are an awefull lot of things you guys are gonna have to check.
O-line: pass blocking vs balanced vs run setting performance
shotgun vs drop formations - time to set feet, better performance in secure pocket
TE vs WR formations over the middle (within a 5 yard diameter route distance) with as exact builds as possible
Identify what "route distance" and "open man" EXACTLY means and implies, once and for all.
QB sliders - 100 lofty and 100 route run - open man does not mean "best open man" but "first open man before routes are complete", correct? Verify through test.
Make sure that if you select 10 short, 60 medium and 30 long passing, you dont select 8 short plays, 2 medium and 7 long. Stay consistent, OR, try only ONE play in each distance category to compare with other parameters. Same goes with personnel (HB/WR/TE)allocation settings.
Passing will be consistent with stamina IMO, a single QB cannot attempt more than 30 passes a game in peewee and expect much more than 50% completion.
Shorten the pass vectors - plays that converge between the hashmarks are shorter than those at the sidelines, and keeps the QB in pocket with feet set, AND allows for route distance.
Backs can catch in flats, can they also catch over the shoulder, off-tackle and upfield?
Pocket vs Scramble QB performance, all other things being equal.
I think that in peewee passing all of these settings have to agree at the most elementary level, ie: 100 lofty is only a peewee setting, before you can even think of getting a pass game going.
Try going with L6 or L8 players so that EVERY player has at least one attribute capped. Also, we go with equal number of speed-WRs and catching-capped-first WRs, and there seems no difference in catching stats, incl. dropped passes. I think builds dont figure much - perhaps Im not solating my players enough in specific settings which I have yet to identify or get right.
You guys are gonna have to get really organized with the sim before you really identify what works and what doesnt. I know you guys are and will, Im just letting you know that I realize what an awesome job you guys will do
