PM me the optimal builds of all the players that would simulate them being around level 4. I need the whole lot though not just the main players.

If someone can do that then I will adjust the players on the test server, otherwise I will just be running the tests as level 1.

That is the way I would build the vast majority of those guys through 4 levels. If anyone disagrees, let me know...regardless, these numbers are a FAR better approximation to Pee Wee than the old builds that were being used.

now we have to get some of the respected members of pee wee to agree these builds are ok for testing, they seem fine to me.

Through 5 pages of project, I'm not sure whether I've missed it, but I think passing, like running is a total AI effort. There are an awefull lot of things you guys are gonna have to check.

O-line: pass blocking vs balanced vs run setting performance
shotgun vs drop formations - time to set feet, better performance in secure pocket
TE vs WR formations over the middle (within a 5 yard diameter route distance) with as exact builds as possible
Identify what "route distance" and "open man" EXACTLY means and implies, once and for all.
QB sliders - 100 lofty and 100 route run - open man does not mean "best open man" but "first open man before routes are complete", correct? Verify through test.
Make sure that if you select 10 short, 60 medium and 30 long passing, you dont select 8 short plays, 2 medium and 7 long. Stay consistent, OR, try only ONE play in each distance category to compare with other parameters. Same goes with personnel (HB/WR/TE)allocation settings.
Passing will be consistent with stamina IMO, a single QB cannot attempt more than 30 passes a game in peewee and expect much more than 50% completion.
Shorten the pass vectors - plays that converge between the hashmarks are shorter than those at the sidelines, and keeps the QB in pocket with feet set, AND allows for route distance.
Backs can catch in flats, can they also catch over the shoulder, off-tackle and upfield?
Pocket vs Scramble QB performance, all other things being equal.

I think that in peewee passing all of these settings have to agree at the most elementary level, ie: 100 lofty is only a peewee setting, before you can even think of getting a pass game going.

Try going with L6 or L8 players so that EVERY player has at least one attribute capped. Also, we go with equal number of speed-WRs and catching-capped-first WRs, and there seems no difference in catching stats, incl. dropped passes. I think builds dont figure much - perhaps Im not solating my players enough in specific settings which I have yet to identify or get right.

You guys are gonna have to get really organized with the sim before you really identify what works and what doesnt. I know you guys are and will, Im just letting you know that I realize what an awesome job you guys will do

Roughneck....great points.

I think that the easiest way to deal with this is by leaving the players tactics alone, and playing two "game scripts"....what I mean by that is we go through a whole bunch of down and distance scenarios and we make sure our play calling is the same. This will allow us to compare apples to apples. If the offense calls the same play, in the same down and distance setting, on the same place in the field, against the same defense.....the only thing that is variable is the passing simulation. We play one "game" with the current settings, and then we make any changes that will be made to the sim and we play the game again.

Or we sim 25 games with the same players, and then make any changes and sim another 25 games to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the changes. This would be a better macro management method, and it would allow the "better passing" to have its effect on moving the ball better, which may change the flow of the game all together.

Regardless, your points are very good.

Also, no blitzing and very soft pass defense tactics to make it as easy as possible for completions to occur, in later sims when we have a better idea what works and how, defenses can tighten up a bit. I think you can leave players tactics alone for the most part, as long as you all agree on what those settings ARE that help each player most. Like I implied, you may have to play at least 100 games, isolating settings, changing just one setting (group?) at a time, to see how things work.

Starting to change the players now. It will take a while as I have to manually input all the numbers in. Once I have done that I will sim a test game again and then take it from there.

This is pretty much on the money (but I'd throw in 50% strength DE's [as a lot of teams use those too]), not a big deal but just to check everything. Nice job though Dave.

are the tactics all set to default or can you change those also?

also can you post the results in the OP like how I have the first game?

I can set up any tactics - so let me know what everyone thinks would be best.
