115 speed

Last two seasons he's averaging over 6 tackles a game in a pro league (and on a winning team so D sees less plays) with as many missed tackles as TFLs. He also kills it in pass defense with plenty of PDs and 3 Ints, has lvl 15 mentor and natural leader, and has 15 in D General.

he was a backup to my other lbs most of his career...last season he barely blitzed

LOL @ quoting the minors/majors, especially for such a complex build as an LB.

By that standard, LBs don't need to even hit the third cap for speed.

well ive made many different lbs...

and no they dont need more than 60 speed...

youll get to point a faster by reacting fast with vision and agility .....your gonna tell me you get to your max before you need to make a play?

Yes, with enough Agility you will hit max speed fairly quickly, no 60 Speed is not enough for any LB ever.

As if you hadn't lost enough credibility by suggesting that automatic level gains make sense...

Congrats, you helped figure out what positions gain what when they level.

What you apparently failed to take from that is that automatic level gains rarely have any correlation to what actually works in practice.

Suggesting that a high level LB can function properly with 60 Speed is totally absurd. There are Centers with more Speed than that.

We can pretty much end the thread here.

Depending on what you want to do with the build, it seems like for an MLB between 85 and 95 speed might be enough provided you've got enough agility - 80? would seem to be enough. The SP and EQ that isn't put into speed is best put into tackling and/or vision - play around with pushing strength to 80 if you must, but all evidence is that those points are better placed elsewhere.

most centers dont add skill points to speed (training can take you to soft cap)...and if they do ROFL

i just compared a 115 and 60 speed lb....i didnt see verymuch difference...except mine forces way more fumbles...

i bet you dont know how much stamina and confidence plays into a players top speed

if your goin to respond to this.....they only way i can take you seriously if if you can tell me the % loss to your stats due to team chemisty being 50%......i already know the answer......

edit...dont take my word for it...just go to add skill points and mouse over vision.....Bort created glb....bort made the rolls, checks, and the autolevelups....

I don't think anyone is arguing that vision isn't important. But that doesn't mean leaving speed at 60.

I like this guy a lot... and feel he's still developing. Speed = Agility for the most part in my book. I also think vision is a lot more important to the MLB position than most people give it credit for. Just rolled my second piece of SV so I'll have something like 10+ SV at some point with 70+ vision.

But speed = agility. They're important for both getting to the ball (speed) and making the tackle (agility).
Keep in mind he's only lvl 36 and in the AA's horribly outleveled .

To original poster, I like the above best.

(imo) No you don't need 100 speed. You have diminishing returns at that mark and for a MLB, you "shouldn't" be trying to chase people down from behind. Do your team a favor and hit the offense head on....

Yes you do need speed (I like your 82). You will have a negative impact on your team if you cannot cover a TE or FB, HB out of the back field. You don't need to cover those guys 20 yards down field... just long enough for the pressure to close in on the QB.

LOL @ diminishing returns on attributes over 100. That is a complete lie.

I dont think he meant the diminishing returns are from pushing speed over 100 as a stat... but as a stat for a MLB. Which is not farfetched thinking (depending on what the MLB is being asked to do within the defensive scheme.)

I'd actually agree. I don't think MLBs need over 100 speed.
But I do believe that LOLBs do.

Some attributes do have diminishing returns over 100, but some don't and it's certainly position dependent. 100 speed for a DT is pas the point of diminishing. It's not even close for a DB or WR.
