This exploit is well documented in the Bugs forum...It may take a a "specific build" DE, BUT, it also took a "specific build" HB to totally exploit the ISLAM season didnt it?

Actually no, it didn't take a specific build. It would pretty much work with any HB as long as his build wasn't horrible.

But yeah, the DE gap thing is pretty buggy...you won't find me argue with that.

Eh, it's way more Reggie than you think it is. Granted, the blocking code there is kind of weak, but if it was just that, every RDE would be getting sacks and that's simply not happening. The other two RDE's on the Wolfpack depth chart had 1 sack using the same exact defenses. Just watch them (the backups) when they come in the game and you'll see it's more the dot than it is the blocking code.

And I hate to say this because it's so cliche but it might be a build/AI scheme thing. Nashville and Laredo had no problem shutting Reggie down.

Yes. There seems to be (or was. i havent' watched any film since the 9/1 change) a magical range of SAs/VAs and base attributes that can make your DE capable of doing the shooting the gap trick. Of course it means the G/T you matchup near must also be in a certain range.

I don't think this necessarily means these DEs are "well built" or that the G/Ts are "poorly built". It's more a matter of them fitting into this little bug/problem that bort can't seem to fix with his blocking/pass rush AI. I don't think the ultimate goal of creating a DE would be for him to kinda teleport through the offensive line. It's just something weird that has been happening in GLB as of late.

Who knows, in 2 seasons, the "good" DE built might be something completely different if good means taking advantage of where there is a weakness in the code.
