And EJ will make the Pro Bowl this season and Barnett won't. That'll shut you up... wait... no it won't
Logic fails you, I forgot.

Let's see who else though. How could you call Winfield only above Average? PRO BOWL
Pat Williams - PRO BOWL
Kevin Williams - PRO BOWL (how the fuck is AD the only stud? KW is TOP 3-4 DT's in the NFL easy)
Jared Allen - HUGE trade
Bernard Berrian - Good trade (our WR's have sucked since we made the 2nd worst Viks trade ever *cry for Randy Moss* )
Greenway is very good
Leber is good
wish we didn't lose Sharper @ SS but his backup has been 2 years in the training and is decent
Hutchinson - PRO BOWL
McKinnie - PRO BOWL (Also drafted when I was at AIT)
Birk - too bad he left ... but PRO BOWL
AD - nuff said
Chester Taylor - Would start on half the NFL teams out there
And last...

Brett willfuckyourmother Favre

watching the game right now... it looked bad to someone who doesn't know a damn thing about football. But it looked VERY promising to someone who knows what to look for.

And to the idiot who said GB was going 12-4... That's just fucking funny.

No, whats funny is Vikings fans every offseason hoping things might be different in the coming season........thinking, someday.........someday, they might make it to the big game.

And that scrim looked promising............if you were hoping Favre could continue what Tarvaris Jackson is best known for, throwing at the feet of WRs, lol.

thats the point flounderer was missing.

so wow, really creepy how the announcers were sucking favre off all night. despite how bad he looked,

"it's ok, when favre and his receivers are in sinc, that's a play that they'll make no problem."

"brett gets the verbage, it's the nuances."

at any point they could have mentioned that he's a little bitch who should have been in camp learning the "nuances" instead of pretending he was retired until camp was over.

and t-jac looked decent at times imo. roll out td to shiancoe was pretty. not that it matters.

+1

I live in MN and watched the game last night and I continue to find it amazing how Favre never gets blasted by the media, for anything. He looked bad last night because he had no chemistry with his teammates. Will he get it? Only time will tell. I will do the homer thing and tote the company line that he got rid of the ball on time and hope that he will develop chemistry as the days go on. His decision making was good, which is really what we were missing from T-Jack.

I disagree that the TD pass to Shiancoe looked good. It appeared that he had him open earlier. There were quite a few passes that he had his man open, missed him, ran around and then completed the pass. I hope we keep T-Jack and he continues to improve but it appears that he has a ton of athletic ability but just doesn't have the ability to produce on the field. His TD pass to Renaud (spelling) was very nice though.

if you like, take Welker, Hines Ward and any other players you want off that list and you'll still have a good 15+ 'deep threats'

Berrian is not a top ten deep threat.

maybe top 25.

Again those guys are not deep threats. Hines Ward is a possession receiver. Moss would be a deep threat but most of those guys are possession receivers. Deep threat receivers are a thing of the past anyway. Most Coverage guys are just as fast or faster.Berrian is a speed receiver but who gives a fuck they don't have the time or the arms to get it to them so he is sort of wasted. Most patterns in the NFL are 30 yards and in. That's why your Colstons' and T.O's shock everyone when they are drafted lower because of their lack of speed but have the ability to catch in a crowd.

Renaldo Nehemiah was a world class sprinter, but he couldnt catch a cold for the 49ers...

there are at least 15 WR on that list that are 'deep threats'

sorry they dont fall into your narrow definition of deep threat...

no audibles....they brought the pressure and it wasnt picked up at all....you could have thrown Tom Brady or Peyton Manning back there with those circumstances and they would have looked like shit.

you're right, he'd actually have to come to training camp to learn the plays to audible.

you do realize Favre practiced what? 3 days with the team? way too early to start talking about his chemistry with the team.

I actually thought the TD to Shiancoe was impressive as TJac was facing a ton of pressure on the play.

as far as this "deep threat" talk goes...only one WR had a higher YPC last season than Berrian. That player was Devery Henderson.

Henderson 24.8
Berrian 20.1

All the talk about all those other WR's is completely meaningless.

Watching the Packers tonight...they are looking just sick. I am not sure if Buffalo is just this bad or what...but Green Bay is just toying with them.

Brandon Maeshall
Roddy White
Anquan Boldin
Hines Ward
Ocho Cinco
Steve Smith
Braylon Edwards
Lee Evans
Wes Welker
Eddie Royal
Desean Jackson
Marquis Colston...

I could go on.

VJ and MD? Half those WR's are not deep threats!
Whosyourmamma is nowhere near a deep threat, a great WR yes, but a deep threat no, and others (Owens) are old and fragile, Welker is NOT has never been or will never be a deep threat, same with Hines Ward and Boldin, very good WR's,but not deep threats, Lee Evans has 1 good game every season for 200 yards and that is it, Fraction Deshaun Jackson has plenty of upside, but is young so I will still rank Berrian above him, and give me a break.......... Royal, White and Bowe are good, but they both have only one good season behind them, Berrian has been a solid deep threat a couple of seasons in Chicago and one in Minny, neither pass friendly offenses. Plus I still don't think Fitz or Wayne are considered a true deep threat WR, Colston has played in a way more pass friendly offense than Berrian ever has
Again, give me 10 TRUE deep threat WR's better than Berrian since I have halfed your list and could do more, I will give you 7 of them as being better true DEEP THREAT WR's.

I never said they all were but there are quite a few that are. All of these guys are better deep threat options than Berrian, all are better WRs as well.

Jennings
Calvin. Johnson
A. Johnson
Royal
Evans
D.Jackson
R.Moss
Chad Johnson
S.Smith
D.Henderson

I love the discussion, the stupid & the smart.

But it goes to show you why some guys will pay $30 for Chad Johnson in their Fantasy draft when they could've paid $3 for Wes Welker & gotten more points.

Some people are too stupid to learn or admit their mistakes.

And I'm not saying anyone's "Wrong" or "Right" in this thread...
But when you just start throwing shit out there w/o making it atleast Plausible, it's just sad and pathetic to witness.

The (very probable) outcome this season is the Vikings with Favre = fairly easy Division Winner (baring a major injury to a key player) and the Packers & Bears are going to wait till next year for the division (possible WC).

Now next year (w/o Favre), the Viks will either with a new & improved TJax have the division nearly in hand, or with a regular TJax (good/bad every week) be fighting with both teams for the division like last year.

Berrian is a GOOD WR... and any normal Viks fan will never say more than that. We ALSO will say though, that he's NEVER had a good QB throwing to him, so it COULD be pretty awesome.
And yes, HALF (or more) of those WR's are NOT deep-threat WR's.

Even again, A. Johnson? Not a deep threat WR by trade, Royal & Evans? Not good enough, Ochocinco? Maybe if he can bounce back (I think he will)... but Berrian's up there.

ALL of that is a moot point though, b/c Favre makes players around him better (hopefully still will). So they ALL should do better than they have in the past.

And yeah, it takes a few weeks to get down even an offense you're used to.
Favre will be fine.
TJax looked good (did the last 3-4 games at the end of last season also).
Finally... it's PRE-season.. none of this shit is that much of a gauge anyway
