Disclaimer: I have guys on the Shockers. And have for some time.
First of all ... Those of you who think the Shockers GMs (the real ones, not the pity ones like me) are classy don't know the half of it. These guys are impressive.
Secondly ... I half agree with the reasoning above, as well as the fact this season's Shockers pretty much played all comers.
The game is still full of luck and with so many 'comeback' triggers ... which sometimes fail ... the losses can get out of hand. So one beat down really means very little IMO. It's a loss, for sure, but the number of points is meaningless.
That being said, I was still gameplanning in season 6 and I recall looking over the Nighthawks and thinking: no fucking way.
If you were gameplanning in the US Pro in s6 and thought you had a shadow of a chance vs. the Nighthawks, then you were kidding yourself. I believe many teams out there had some belief they could topple this season's Shockers. A few almost did and Bonn did. This doesn't mean the Nighthawks were better, but IMO the Nighthawks were more of a juggernaut. Still, I wonder if they could have beaten all the top teams in four tourneys without a bad game. And I do recall they had lots of players from the same agent on the team. (Is this true?)
Different sim. Less complicated. Before a few nerfs. But none of that matters, since we aren't talking s6 nighthawks vs. s10 shockers, but s6 nighthawks vs. all other teams and s10 shockers vs. all other teams.
Miken says 1a and 1b, but I see it more as ... best orange and best apple.
All that being said: no 'best team ever thread' could disregard either team.
Thrilled to have been part of this.
Great game MEM. Arguably the best title game ever. Had my heart racing.
See you next season.
