Hey now, we're not all that incestuous! LE may be a GM on half the teams in peewee, but DoRD doesn't roll that way. We like to keep the formula for our secret sauce in the family, as it were

Honestly, I've yet to figure out how big games between highly ranked teams work out when half the GM's on both teams can see the other team's tactics and builds. They still generally end up being competitive games though, so I guess you guys must have a system worked out

I look at it more like .. it doesn't matter ... if you didn't game plan ... that's your fault.

We just don't cheat and look at each others game plans or talk about them in the forum. It kind of turns into an owner vs. owner battle running the O and D.

On this other matter... You can knock early boosting all you want but it worked for Short Bus last season, and maybe it back fired this season, who knows. In the end it doesn't really make much of a difference except moving your speed or strength from 68to 69 at the end of the season. I early boosted random guys on my team because we were knee deep in both tournaments and all of my opponents were boosting. Yet 10 of my 11 starters that I made are all Level 14 (not counting special team centers I made). I don't see any Level 15 players on these slow building teams outside of a kicker or punter.

Last Season Short Bus had massive depth, that was why it worked so well for them. They could have 3-6 players playing at every position including Special Teams. They boosted in stages to keep their top line players at their best come playoffs.

Boosting late on my team had nothing to do with reaching level 15 or even 14. It was about getting the primary stat to second cap and secondary stat to first cap. That way the player reaches maximum growth in two ways:

1) Players earn the bonus for leveling up AFTER the cap, which is worth 2:1 or 3:1 on skill points.
2) Players are able to train faster because it takes longer to train attributes the higher they are. I trained my primary until I could hit cap by dropping 15-25 SPs into it. Then I started training my secondary stat while dropping SP into my primary. Again, I would not drop SP into my secondary until it reached 24 or higher in order to maximize training. If you drop those SP into those stats too early, you lose that bonus to training that ability, and you have fewer levels-up after you've reached cap.

Note: This most greatly affects players who gain 0.5 per level. Obviously the gains to speed in FB will still be 0, while the gains to a FB in strength is far greater.

Example:

(Also, yes I know, I could have done better with a reroll script, but it is still pretty f-ing good).

Edit:

Note: I realize that I broke the build from the naming style. I realized that this player needed more speed, so I ignored vision for the most part.

We lost 3 games so I dont think we are top 10 material, though we could probably beat a lot of the teams in the top 10 but as far as a ranking maybe around 15th or so.

I'm waiting till after the last 3 leagues play their CC games to kind of give it a bigger overhaul.

My team is good enough right now (I boost late and cap my Primary and secondary attributes early) that I don't gameplan. At all. I haven't touched my DAI in 10 days and I don't change my OAI between games. I imported my OAI from the Rockwall Jackets to the DI because I wasn't happy with the one Miller was using. Since I imported that AI my team hasn't lost a game. We beat the shortbus with only half of the players boosted or using custom EQ in a game where we took the majority of penalties that took us out of scoring position. We scored TDs, while the shortbus were forced to kick FGs. So while they scored more times, they scored fewer points.

The reason that teams like the short bus are trying to hold on to their season record and their scrimmage wins is that they are early developping teams. They boost players early and they build their players to win games early. Now that teams like mine and the CEP are coming into their own, they want to take away the value of these wins near the end of the season and point out our losses early in the season.

There's a reason that I didn't play the elite teams early in the season: I would have lost.

This may be 100% true, but it still doesn't mean a heck of a lot to me. It is like ANY sporting team explaining why they are consistently underperforming in playoffs, by indicating that they peaked AFTER the season is over.

TT, everything is laid out in black and white. We are all starting with the same thing each and every season, but the teams that do well are the teams that have figured out how to succeed and they execute. Knowing what to do and how to go about it is great, and it sounds like you have this down pat....but if you go ahead and do something else, IMHO you don't merit being in the top 25 when your claim to fame in the past 3 seasons is a first round victory and a handful of scrims against good teams who had nothing left to play for by the time your matchup went down.

I think the boost timing issue is a far greater non-factor than it gets credit for. Seeing a team like DoRD kicking ass with no boosting or CE doesn't just prove that you don't have to boost early, it also proves that it doesn't matter if you do boost early. If a team that is 2-3 levels under can still dominate, one that is only 1/2 level behind should have very little handicap If their builds and plans are good. Most early boosters can still hit level 13 if they're getting 30+ plays. So it's really not a big deal either way.

Well I'll give TT props as he is winning all the scrimmages as of late. Pretty impressive. Would of been more impressive with a league championship or at least a conference championship. Still beating some quality teams though so maybe you have something up your sleeve, I would start the process of whatever it is your doing sooner so you get over the playoff hump.
