I would say probably.

What a disappointment. Looks like I will be spending less money in season 11.

don't count anything out yet, bort doesn't announce any changes really until the off-season.

Darkus is working hard pushing for this, he has some interest in pee wee also so maybe he can get it done.

I think we have positives on our side

1. not really any objections to this idea
2. a ranking committee in place which is voted on by the public, which can help make it easier deciding where the non-league champions go to.
3. waiting to the off-season, they can easily see who is left, do the shuffle, and then hand out new teams into the lowest tiers.

It can still happen.

Robbnva, I like what you are saying and would love to see it. I love pee wee and starting over every season.

This was my first season on GLB, I didn't really get serious about it until mid-way through the season, then ended up as a DC and am totally hooked.

For what it's worth at this point, I would love to see a pro Pee-wee league. The proposed mechanisms are fine with me.

I personally think boosting takes some of the strategy out of it. Winning would be more meaningful if nobody was allowed to boost.

Our team just lost a close one in the second round of playoffs. We pretty much lost because of a bunch of fumbles, which I'm sure were because we were 2-4 levels lower than the other team. A couple guys boosted early (only one level, tho), but probably 90% of the team did not boost. If we boosted three levels on each player, we'd still be in it. I'm not saying we got screwed or anything, we knew not boosting was probably a death sentence. I'm just saying that the team with the best game plan should win...especially if it's a "best of the best" type of league.

Allowing boosts after day 41 is fair for those wanting to play in higher leagues. They have to wait until they get into those leagues anyway.

I can understand, tho, why Bort wants us to buy flex points, hehe. He's done a great job IMO, and he deserves the cash.

So maybe just outlaw boosting in the top pro league...that's only a small percentage of the teams out there (not sure it's a small percentage of the FP sales, tho, since the best teams are probably the best candidates for buying FPs, haha)

The problem with your boosting plan is DoRD just won a 128 team tourny without boosting. And beat a booster. I won last season with only half the team boosted. No boosting will NEVER happen. Not a good business plan.

I am still pushing for this, as soon as there is any official word on it I will post an update. Bort did say this on the test server in response to someone else bringing up the question:

HOWEVER, this is not confirmation that it WILL be done, but it does look promising.

No boosting will probably never happen because then GLB would make $.01 off Pee-Wee Leagues. Owners could build their entire team themselves, not boost, then retire them after the season and get ALL the flex back. Owning, operating, and having every player on the team would only cost 400 flex per season per team.

I disagree, if there is no boosting, agents will invest in more players and custom eq.......the leagues will be more competitive because more agents will create more players.....and more people will be willing to try out pee wee ownership/extend their ownership because there will be less of a strain on recruiting. It will give less of an advantage to established owners who already have a network or agents.

On top of that you'll have less of a boom then bust relationship with agents.....ie agents who spend wads of cash on glb, get caught by there wives/gfs and then have to quit. It will cause more activity and more people willing to stick with glb......thus creating more hits to the sight, creating advertising opportunites

If Bort thinks that he will lose money by eliminating boosting, then he is being nearsighted.....it's like saying dropping the price of a car or tv will cause you to lose money......it's only true if demand stays the same.

Anyhow, that's my rant for the day ......and Bort, if you need some help with marketing give me a shout

Boosting is part of the game and the strategy.

I'll use your comparison. Basically you are suggesting that I be able to go buy a car in full brand new from you and in a year I could turn it back in and get all of my money back. Now, I can't take the money and spend it elsewhere.. but I would be able to repeat this process on a new car every year until either you go out of business or I die.

When the pee wees were originally brought up and created, we had asked for no boosting. We wanted a level playing field completely across the board. Bort was greatfull enough to create the pee wees 3 seasons ago to basically give all teams the same starting point. He won't however go for no boosting allowed and has made that point very clear a few seasons ago. It's NEVER going to happen, useless even talking about it. Best thing to do is put in your recruitment title seeking boosters and custom EQ players only.

Make retiring players higher than level 1 only return 70% of creation cost. (ie - if they've actually played in a peewee season, not just created and retired at lvl1, that should still be 100% refund). Then you could delay boosting till day 41, which would promote more people to come play peewee competitively, bort would still make some money, and the cost of playing in peewee would be uniform (30% of player create cost). It would make guys retiring lvl 60 players get 100 or so less flex back, but honestly at that level the creation cost is very small compared to what you're getting back from boost refunds.

That said, and my $0.02 cents safely added; I ultimately agree that it will probably never happen. A guy can dream though, can't he?

No, I don't believe he can.
