I shall rephrase the question then. Is the #1/top QB on his team's QB depth chart yet and/or has he thrown more passes in games than the other QB on the roster?

No. But all of his stats are better, so he might as well be.

He's never been a backup. So no.

Hmm, I don't see his name under "starting offense"

Does that make you like the second starter since your not a backup?

Hint: Not being the starter doesn't mean you're a backup.

Uhh Hint: That is what the word backup means in football. You must have never played. It's ok though, now you know.

Backup would imply that I come in when he gets hurt, or at the end of the game, hold kicks, etc

Whereas it's more of a partnership.

I wouldn't call Ricky Williams Ronnie Brown's backup, because he isn't. They share carries. Same thing.

I know you don't want to hear this but you are the backup. If you weren't the backup then you'd be the starter on your team. Your QB isn't the starter and is only a part time QB. Ricky Williams was considered Ronnie Browns backup just like Turner was L.T.'s backup even though they shared carries. To break it down for you your QB would be starting if he was better than the current starter. Even if his stats could have been better with equal plays to the starter he is still the backup. You also should take into account if your QB faced more second team defenses subbing in for the starter and also playing against demoralized defenses that were playing from behind since the starter(Not You) built up a big lead. Either way I just felt your ego needed to be shot down cause this thread is stupid to begin with. Everyone knows Jeff Garcia is average to above average at best and never became a great QB. Good Luck with your new QB though and hopefully he becomes a starter this time so we don't have this debate 8 seasons from now when you say Dirty Sanchez is the greatest QB when he's playing backup to another QB.

Thank you for spelling it out for him. I was too lazy.

Backup would imply that you are on the depth chart behind another QB. That is what you are. Sorry but the greatest QB out there would be starting...

Jeff does not come in when we have a big lead, so that's wrong. Jeff HAS been a starter, so that's wrong.

Backup
4. a person, plan, device, etc., kept in reserve to serve as a substitute, if needed.

I am not a reserve. I'm put out there just as usefully as the other QB on the team. Second string =/= Backup.

career QB rating of 96. why is that the greatest QB ever? Not exactly worthy of hiding your build from anybody.

I've seen really bad arguments but that one's got to be up there.

Implying that a 96 rating isn't amazing is really stupid to begin with.

Your QB only comes on if needed. Due to the team's energy settings your QB comes on 'if needed' because the starter's enrgy has fallen below the energy requirement.

Since you seem to like definitions, here is the Min Energy definition which is on every single teams enrgy tactics page:

Min Energy (1-100):
What level should a player's energy be when he is sent to the bench and a backup replaces him?

And that backup is Jeff Garcia!

Thank You. Couldn't have worded it any better. You would hope this would end the debate but I doubt jeffgarcia gets it.

Hint: Jeff Garcia's energy drops, he is sent to the bench and a backup replaces him as well.

whoops.
