Well - just my $0.02, but this league seems to be more evenly matched then most that I've been in. Sure - there's a 9.5 level difference between the top and bottom of the East, and a 10+ level difference in the West. But - the East also has 10 teams within 4 levels of each other (from 30 to 34), and the West has 7. Now sure - all things being equal, a difference of even 2-3 levels can be huge. One thing I've learned, however, is that all things are almost NEVER equal.

In general, I'm pretty optimistic that this will be a fun, competitive league. And I think that for most of us, we will be able to go into most games with at least a chance to win. The down side, of course, is that this will expose my poor coaching and scouting skills .

I've wondered about that too, but it's hard to tell who he's talking about by wording. If it were me, i'd write code to auto-remove all players from teams who are currently 4 levels or higher from their cap. Of course there would be hundreds of players scrambling looking for teams and many teams scrambling to sign players in their own level range after rollover. It would be funny in a way because most of the teams who have stacked up on over the cap players and have been strutting around thinking they have it in the bag next season will suddenly find themselves on the outside looking in.

I don't expect anything like that to happen, i'm just saying i'd probably laugh my ass off if it did.

Someone said these are teams that pmed to request lower caps around 13, and 21.

I think that Bort is too vague in everything he says... its a joke.

I would have no problem with identifying over the cap players +4 and above... IF you have a player that high you have the preseason to trade them so no player or team gets screwed. Saying some people will loose players, you know who you are, is a joke.......

Well - I think he's only talking about people who both 1) have high level players well above the cap, and 2) requested a lower level cap league. Lots of us have a few high-level players, but if we never requested a lower-level cap, then I don't think it makes sense to punish people for that. For me - I just went on with my recruiting and let Bort figure out where my team should go. Now that I'm here - I'd hate to be punished for having a few higher level players, that were already on my team when Bort decided to put me in this league. But I certainly claim no special knowledge.

I tend to agree.... I do not understand if it was going to be an issue why where teams put here with players higher than the cap at all?

Clearly GLB is not seeing the same things that other people are.......

My players and I bearly pay attention to this site. We have a team, I am pretty sure our build suck but all we care about is having something extra for us to talk about. We didn't pick this league, this league was assigned to us.

Am I going to get all bent out of shape about anything that happens at GLB? Absolutly not. We really don't care that much. If some people are upset that I have level 37 and level 42 players on my team then they go ahead, there is nothing I can do, nor want to do, about that.

I gave up on putting a lot of time and effort in GLB a long time ago when Bort kept moving the target and chaging things up too often to keep up. I have a life outside of this stuff and about 20 minutes a week is all I put into it. This post alone will eat up 15% of my GLB time for thr week.

It's a GAME, If everyone is going to get so bent up about it don't play. Bort is trying to make the game so it's more even and teams are challenged instead of one or two teams in each league dominating and not giving the rest a chance at all. Having a few players that are higher than the rest does not mean that team is going to dominate. It depends on their build and how you set your game tactics. I think this new switch Bort did was a good idea, and yes some teams may have advantages over others but whatever, it will make it more fun instead of being on a team in a league where there is no fighting chance possible. Why don't we just deal with what Bort has done (because it is his game and he can do what he wants with it) and who knows, maybe it won't work to how he wanted it and everything will change next season. I give him some Credit for putting the effort to trying to make the game more evenly matched.

For me it's the mentality of it that goades me. Having a few players slightly over the cap, I really wouldn't even notice. Have a starting player near lvl 50 in a 34 capped league and steam starts spewing from my ears. There's no way someone has players on their team THAT far above the cap and is looking for fair competition. To me that screams playground bully, and I don't like it.
