Or the problem with being able to run the same play the entire game. I still say any play ran more than 5-10 times in a game should result in largely diminishing returns. This would limit future expliots as well.

We'll need a lot more offensive plays. Repeating the play in succession is where a penalty should apply because IRL a lot of teams will use the same play, especially running plays, multiple times in a game.

Yes but not %90 of the time. It is used to keep the defense honest and set up other plays as well.

I agree not 90%. But if you run 60 offensive plays in a game, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see the same run 5 or more times. Maybe rather than a blanket 5-10, a % would work better...

Oh yeah my numbers were just random to make the point but I agree totally. The penalty should be exponential if a play is run more than twice in a row though. Show me a defensive line, Linebacker, or coaching staff that wouldn't pick it up by the third time in a row.

I dont like the fact that many believe a back should be weaker in the fourth quarter. A majority of the great backs had higher YPC in the fourth quarter than any other, because they made their living beating up on defenses they wore down. That is one of the main advantages of a strong running game.

The difference is that those RB have 20-25 carries at that point, GLB RBs have 50ish.

Hopefully the stamina drain increase and the fix to always falling forward three yards will be the solution. I don't have a problem with power backs in general, or with them breaking tackles, I just think 1) once you get over 25-30 carries there should be a noticeable decline in performance and 2) no way should you be able to fall forward for 3 yards every time in a pile of 3-4 defenders.

Not sure exactly, but you should have more speed & agility than an average OL. Strength alone should help with falling forward and that's about it. You can't stiff arm anyone with the ball in the wrong hand.

Powerbacks are a little broken because they break too many tackles. I've seen em break 50+ tackles per game and that just doesn't happen in the NFL. Besides which, linebackers sux hard at the moment.
