If you want to see a pathetic forum, go see the bastard child that the USA AAA#1 forum has turned into.
THAT is unreadable, with every new team from AA thinking they are King Shit and running their mouths like they've been there for 3 seasons.
Same thing happens in USA AAA2. I don't think they realize that mass promotion has made the moveup teams rolling through AAA less and less likely with every season.
Before I made it up here, I was concerned that I may never get GB here. Face it, being 1 of the 2 out of 32 isn't easy and takes some breaks (see WW as an example of a great & deserving team that had the breaks go against them in the POs). I like the more mass promotion that is currently in place. It has certainly made USA Pro soooooooo much tougher than it was just a couple ssns ago. However, it's now much easier to get here than ever before, and that isn't a dig on any team that has climbed up here any way they could get here. If I started over now, I wouldn't be anywhere near as concerned. Right or wrong, I'd be confident that, if I only stuck it out long enough, eventually enough teams above me will gut that I'd make it pretty much for sure. I think that's part of the mass cockiness. More teams believe they'll get here than before and odds are better that they're right.
I think to an extent you're right - and if simply getting here is the goal, those teams should be thrilled with themselves. However, getting here and having a successful first season is going to get harder and harder, as every season the bad/gutted teams are replaced with top AAA teams. Also, the recruiting edge of USA Pro has never been stronger than the last couple of seasons - teams that dominated other Pro leagues and competed with USAPL for top recruits used to be able to sell the possibility that this isn't the premier league in GLB, because of all the gut jobs and how top heavy it was. Now though, it's easily the strongest league from top to bottom, and that takes a ground leveling pitch away from all the foreign Pro league teams.
I see where you're coming from though, with the moveup teams to AAA thinking that all the good teams have advanced - but they fail to consider that they too are advancing from mass relegation (the ones that don't have championships), so the gaps between them and their new leagues get bigger every season. I think we've now hit the point where an incumbent AAA team would be the overwhelming favorite to continue to Pro, not a new team - and it shouldn't take long before the new batches of AAA teams start to realize that.
