This conversation is very amusing. It is always funny to see a team that built its success on super fast, finesse pass rushers, and one who until last season used the 3-4 so they could "exploit" the fact that both Gs and the C for some reason (i.e. due to bad game logic) feel the need to block the NT and leave the OTs on an island so they can get tons of sacks complain when a team runs it all over their finesse players and right up the gut on their 3-4 (running inside vs. a 3-4 is football 101). I am really accusing anyone of trying to exploit the system because none of it really bothers me. It is just ironic and almost always a universal fact that the people who complain the loudest about explots 1.) have their own pet exploits they try to take advantage of and 2.) are the ones who have the biggest envy about not being able themselves to use the very exploits they complain about. You guys do know that for about the first 50 years football existed it was almost ALL running and that even until 1980 or so most teams ran about 65% or more?

Stopping the run in GLB is just not that hard, ESPECIALLY when you know what is coming. Try some creativity. Creativity in builds (like LBs with strength and tackling in the 60s, 70s and 80s *light bulb* ) and creativity in tactics. Both go a long way. Or don't do either of those things and just keep complaining. Makes no difference to me.

the more I think about it, UMBF is right. It should be that the D's skills increase, not the O's decreasing

Like I said, don't expect much to happen. I already talked to Bort about it and posted in suggestions...it went nowhere

The only downside to this idea is that the playbook isn't big enough to accommodate it yet. If Bort had a team of programmers working for him (like he should with a game this size now), we would have a larger playbook and people would have no argument against a change like this.

actually, it's plenty big to do it (though I don't argue that it could be bigger and am sick to !@#$ing death of passes thrown to WRs that are already out of bounds or out of the back of the end zone...Sorry, but that's just plain sloppy as hell programming there). let's say you run 70 plays a game. Even if you went 100% run or 100% pass, it's not hard to come up with more than 7 plays on either side of the ball.

That said, I don't expect it to happen either...After all, fame and vet abilities are so much more important than to be able to audible against a goal line D, be able to pass out of a goal line D, have WRs not run out of the field of play before the ball is thrown, have a returner actually make a cut (as opposed to running into the pile) or anything as silly as the ideas being tossed around here. I mean, the rich gotta get richer, baby!

I gave it one more try.
