OOH, I dont know about that. Maybe, but WVU has a tendancy to lose some games they shouldn't. Seems to be in the water. But I still think he has a lot more of a chance to win a national championship in Michigan rather than WVU though. He can pull a lot more quality recruits just from the school prestige alone.

So can Notre Dame but recruiting isn't everything. You have to take in SOS and WVU's usually isnt as hard even though they play more games. Michigan plays less games and play against OSU at the end of the year.
I know Michigan is a more prestigious school in every way over WVU and can understand why he wanted to coach at Michigan, yet the way he left gave everyone a bad taste and their mouth. To make matters worse he lost alot of talent last year due to graduations and transfers

Yeah, Michigan is pretty much crap this year, but they have talent, just young. You can tell he had to throw a team together real quick since some players left the team after he showed up. But that Sam McGuffie kid is something else. One of the best white boys I've ever seen at RB

he is good in the open field but he didn't impress me in his last game, especially on the goal line run where he got stuffed. He simply doesn't have that power that some other big ten backs have like WElls and P.J.

Leaving the team was the right thing to do. He made a committment to coach another team. Why in the hell should he stay and coach one last game? THAT would be the wrong thing to do. Instead of stealing the spotlight, he handed it over, and allowed another coach a chance to make a name for himself.
If that's the worst you can dig up on RRod, thanks for playing.

As far as having a better chance to win at WVU than Michigan..... Now I know you're crazy.
You just can't recruit at WVU like you can at Michigan. Michigan holds WAY more clout. At WVU he was forced to take more risks with kids that weren't exactly model citizens. That puts his name on the line. At Michigan he can be WAY more selective.
Know why WVU never had a passing game? It was hard for him to recruit pro-type WR's to WVU. Michigan? That number 1 recruits itself. And suprise suprise, he already has two of the top WR's for next years class committed. One is from Florida and is considered one of the top talents in the state as a junior.

I'm a rivals subscriber, so let me post a small excerpt from the article where Newsome announces he's "committed" to Michigan............
What ignorant bable have I been posting besides some boosting about running backs??'
IF you think Rich Rod is a good guy for Michigan you are wrong.
He left his players before their bowl game... how can you justify that? He left them after a loss which would have put them into the national title game against a team they should have beat ( pitt ). He made West Virginia into a powerhouse of the Big East and would have had a better opportunity to play in the title game at WVU than at Michigan.
We'll see in a few years. Honestly, I think quite the opposite. Yeah, he might have won a championship quicker at WVU but he wouldn't of had sustained success there.
Facilities, equipment, salary, quality of athletes, more prestigious conference...are all going to be much better at Michigan for a long time. It's not just about what is good for one specific team, it's about what is better for him, his family, his career goals.
A coach waiting till after the bowl game to leave is more of a problem than one that leaves before. It's a distraction to the coaches and the players. He's going to be preparing for starting up recruiting for a completely different system. Hire new assistant coaches. Are the asst coaches he left behind going to want to work with the ones that are leaving? No. He sticks around, something like when Mark Richt left FSU before the 01 title game, Mike Price and Wazzou, OU 2003 title game with Mike Stoops...can go on. RRod stays for the Fiesta Bowl last year and I think they would have lost probably by the same margin that they won by.
