Well, any time a team scores 100+ points, it's impressive, and its not like Memphis is 95% Computer players.

But yeah, I'm really anticipating our meeting with Chicago.

While GLB has got a lot of potential and is very good now, the discrepancy between teams is so great. We (finally) have human players starting at all positions, but going up against a team like New Brunswick (with Lvl 11/12 starters throughout), we're at a huge disadvantage. But 106-0? Perhaps, there should be a mercy setting where a DC/OC could rest starters if there's a blowout.

Memphis is a new team for season 2. Are most other teams in our league new?

I'm with you there Rising Sun. It took me a while to flesh out my team with humans, and we ended up behind some of the other teams as a result. There were some games we went into with a 50-80 level disadvantage between the starting squads - kinda like this upcoming game against the Manhattan Juggernauts. I think I'm giving away 60 levels before we even hit the field. Now granted Michigan has the same problem and are ranked 5th in the division - I deffinitely need to take some lessons from those guys - but I think they are the exception rather than the rule.

I will 100% agree with you and the fact that instead of running the ball and the game out they ran the score up by throwing 65 times which their starting QB didn't even do very well. But basically passing the ball that many times extends the game and stops the clock due to incompletions. During none of our big blow outs did our team ever throw that much, the game the passing was messed up and everyone had low passing % we threw 41 times but that wasn't due to our settings. So they defenitely had intentions of running the score up against a weaker opponent.

True... but NB ran on us like we weren't even there (5.7 yd/avg per rush), so I'm not sure that would have made a huge difference. Also, the tactics, while improving, are still fairly limited.

I play Gridiron Dynasty and in that game, there's an opportunity to make adjustments at halftime. Not sure if that would fly with GLB though...

DVSmith,

I'm not going to tell you what our team goals were for that our game (we state them before every game), what our settings were, passing, subs, AI, or anything. Nothing. But I will tell you that seeing how high we could run the score up was not part of it.

And to any other Knights that post here, don't reveal any of why we do what we do. Resist the urge.

To Rising Sun and Sequtugh:

This game should be around for a long time and the cream will rise to the top in time. If you manage your team well, develop financially, grow your players and develop a good team spirit, any of you should eventually be able to win the league.

I agree with you, Nike-Joe. That's why I'm here...

Malakias,

Hey, I just like doing power rankings man. That's all.

Kidding aside, I just look at the rosters and the scores, and that is my conclusions. I knew I'd take flack for putting us first in my power rankings. Maybe I can't see my own biases, but I thought I was being reasonably fair. The fun part, is coming very soon for all of us though.

Big games in the East:

There are no heavyweight battles next game. But two important matchups.

New Hampshire vs. Miami Makos. This is a big game, as NH seems to have the roster to make a run, but started slow and then caught NY and MM for 4 quick losses. Are they on track finally? Coming off of a nice win over Scranton, Miami Makos are trying to separate themselves from the other middle of the pack teams. My pick: NH by 9.

NY vs. Akron. NY is the forgotten elite team in the East. But they are good and only have 1 loss coming from New Brunswick. Akron, has CPUs and depth issues, but is a solid winning team, doesn't get blown out, and beats the teams they should beat. Can NY put up a big score and get back in the conversation? My Pick: NY by 12.

That's right! Nobody can end our perfect season! You tried and failed miserably!

I have 3 players on the New Brunswick Scarlet Knights (go Rutgers). I take exception to the post stating we "ran up the score." I'm not going to give up our strategy, but isn't everyone here trying to maximize their chances of winning via their pre-game tactical decisions? We don't control the outcome, just our process. I'd like to undeniably state that the (very) hard and intelligent pre-game work of my coaches has more to do with the lopsided score than any attempt to "blowout" our opponent. This is our 1st season as a team, but our dedicated coaches havw worked very hard to build us up. I guess their will always be naysayers and jeolousy when something like this happens. Perhaps we should just attempt to win close games from now on. Sorry if I offended anyone(DVSmith27), but if you guys saw the number and quality of strategy discussion on our team forum started by our coaches before every game, you wouldn't be so shocked by this score.

Since points is a major tiebreaker, it's reasonable to run up the score on people. That's a red herring if you ask me.

They're just mad because they used to have the biggest blowout.

you guys dont have the biggest blowout either. saw some team with a 160+ to 0 score. Dont worry we will "gameplan" as well when we play jersey boys. Cause we all know how much strategy it takes to beat on a non-existent team. Tell it like it is. Yall aimed to smash em as much as possible and using the "we planned well" excuse is just a crutch. Do not get me wrong. I aim to do the same thing to every team. But i tell it like it is. I aim to crush every opponent we face. Oh well if people are gonna start arguing over stupid things im going to stop posting here. NB is obviously cocky and that will be their downfall. Try to be a tad more humble. Thought the loss to michigan would have tamed you guys down some. Oh well. I am done with this arguement. Next topic please. Anyone know if we can still purchase new parts to the stadium now to be built in the offseason?
