Wow...I would've made the same mistake then. That's rough.

You guys have it backwards. We made our rushing QB the starting QB so that we could do QB runs out of 5WR. On passing plays we tried to put the rushing QB in at RB using the RB2 slot so that the passing QB would be in (obviously we didn't want to throw out of the 5WR formation.)

Little did I know that the RB2 slot does not override the QB depth chart like the TE2 slot does.

All of this could be avoided if Bort just made a Custom QB slot like he has for nearly every other position.

Has he ever said why he didn't do that? You can even set it to where you can't put WRs or HBs back there or something. Considering everyone knows the "wildcat" trick if Bort didn't want running QBs he probably could've just fixed that little trick. Does seem strange.

Oh well. I'm confident that Alpine will be back in the top 3 next season and if we lose 2 teams to world league will be battling for the #1 spot. Best of luck to the rest of you

I think he just does it so people won't "abuse" the QB slots with putting in a running QB whenever they want. But that already happens, so he's really not preventing anything. Just being hard-headed.

He should be adding more custom slots. Still drives me nuts that there isn't a SS custom slot.

right, but the abuse will get worse if you don't have to have a crappy blocking TE at least. I think he should only add a custom QB slot when he adds a way for the D to put in a custom D for when running QBs enter the game. The D shouldn't be blind as to who is under C.

I agree that the defense should be able to react, and I have actually had a conversation with Bort a while back about this subject where he said he was planning to implement a feature to allow it, so I have no problems seeing your point. I just feel that the game should have been coded consistently so the custom RB, FB, and TE spots worked the same way.

Well, he is forcing the other QB to be in a play which...
1. burns stamina
2. burns morale since as a TE on a running play he's gonna have to block...while most QBs have decent strength, they don't have OL strength and they aren't gonna have the blocking or agility to really do a good job, so likely getting beat/reverse pancaked on the play.

To me, that's an honest tradeoff for the defense not being able to adjust.

Yeah, but what he SHOULD DO, and this has been needed for a very long time, is just implement the custom slots, then have a way for the defense to adjust for the custom slots in their AI. It's so simple, yet it never gets added to the game. An easy menu that says if QB1 is playing QB, put the pass defense OLB in. If QB2 is playing, put the rush D OLB in. Same with the HB slots, TE slots, etc.

The only problem is you'd have people switching around their slots right before gametime, which would suck lol. But I'm sure there is some way to prevent the exploits that the userbase of GLB could come up with.

It's simple to add, but very complicated to add well. Just allowing for the defense to plan for QB1/QB2/etc slots would be horrid and add many hours to DAI setting each game day. It needs to be done smarter than that, and Bort hasn't spent enough time thinking about it to get a good answer to it that he's happy with.

It's a shame, because there are at least 4 or 5 different good answers floating around the forum, but I'm not sure he's read them or considered them.

GG Hurricane Warriors, your defense was amazing and your third-down passing was simply incredible. Best of luck next two games and in the World League.

GG Monkeys. Again, a close game that could've gone either way. So happy when Finkle missed that FG, even more pissed when we missed an XP.

Best of luck in the next round.
