Keep 'em commin' people.
45th page, this is a NGTH, and should not stay in Epic tbh. I supported this months ago....

hm i haven't seen this shot down therefore its not (Yet) in the not going to happen
i see lot of option and potential for this happening
since its in line with some of the original thoughts for the game
its easily implemented just shorten the roster limit
it has continued support , has nearly the most posts for any suggestion
and last but not least i like it and might even lighten up the overall support for the game for having another option of play

One of the unfortunate things about the way this suggestions forum is set up is that we're never really sure what the standing is for any specific suggestion. I hope it's not going to end up in NGH, especially since it's gained such broad support. But I think it's fairly likely that the admins might have this in the "never been read" category and we've never seen any evidence to the contrary from any admins.

I think it will be implemented when Casuals are fully constructed, this way Bort can focus on Iron Man.

I love the idea but I think that the energy usage for this league would have to be very different or you would need more than 15 players, maybe 20. If the energy usage for this league were the same as normal leagues, stamina would become much more important and you would see players have stamina as one of their main stats they use SP on. I think one good way to prevent this would be a roster size of 20. I play football and I play offense/defense/special teams even though my team has around 25 people.

I love the idea.
I would make a player for a league like this as well.
But I think the players should be non-positional so they don't have OOP penalties, and the players should be exclusively for that league with no crossover.
It would be a great place to explore different league structures as well....

Thanks as always to everyone for their input on this thread.
We've had a lot of discussion previously about OOP penalties, stamina effect, and roster sizes. The consensus from the majority of the longtime supporters of this idea is that the idea is workable as stands, with as few changes to the actual game as possible -- simply limiting the roster size to 15.
Could this idea be made better with some tweaks to the basic game coding? Possibly. Not guaranteed, but possibly.
But getting the idea implemented is most likely by proposing the fewest amount of changes possible to make the idea work, and that would be limiting the rosters to 15 players, making OOPs part of the strategy and watching how stamina plays into builds to make them definitely unique players to this league. I think the stamina requirements alone, then coupled with the offense/defense build needs, make crossover players no concern to an Iron Man League. Those players would be pretty useless here.
A roster size of 15 allows for a couple of specialized players while still holding true to the idea of two-way football.
I don't mean to imply this idea is perfect, nor that further discussion is useless, but this is my way of explaining how we arrived where we are.

Stick to your guns about the 15 man limit... not 20, not 22, not 18... This is about iron-man playing both sides of the ball. Will they get tired? Yes. But everyone will be tired, so that's alright.

You know I think we should take it up a notch. No kickers or kicking plays, you go for the 2 point conversion after a TD, and you either punt it or go for it on 4th down. Hell maybe make it no kicking or punting, personally I think that should be what happens in the Iron-man league. Stick with 15 man limit though
