Okay, enough. I've really tried to stay off this because I don't like to go with the "what you are really like" material. If someone says something, I'll take them at face value until I have cause to think otherwise. Semi-retired at 30? I'll go with it. Cabin on the lake? Sure. People have those.
But for someone who says they have all that going for them... dude, you sure obsess over what others think of you. Time and time again, you seem to gloat over how you are so much better than the other people here. You **reek** of someone who is trying way too hard to prove something to not just someone, but everyone. The fact that you constantly talk about how you put people in their place, or how you are better than them, or how witless others are.... what part of that sounds like a successful 30-something?
Now I know, I broke my own rule of bringing something off-topic into a thread doing its best Weekend At Bernie's impression, but I've had enough. I just have to ask:
If we all say we like you and think you're smart, will you finally shut up?
I never said I owned the cabin at Lake Hamilton, just that I was there. I half own it. Not that it's relevant, but I don't like to misrepresent, or give the appearance thereof.
Why do I do what I do? Because I can't stand it when people assume the intellectual high ground in message board forums. I get irritated when smart mouthed morons (kevin, badkarma, daman) drive-by insult a guy (Joe) who is clearly doing the right thing in this case (you may not agree with his methodology, but I think we all, except the Bandits, agree with his intent). I often come to the defense of those doing the right thing, because those that do, tend to get "shouted out" by the people committing whatever error or wrong is committed in the first place.
Not that I have the misguided "savior" fantasy or any other such nonsense, I just grow tired of bullshitters winning. Call it a by product of a lot of free time. Am I intelligent, yes. Am I arrogant, sure, if the shoe fits I'll wear it. But I just can't stand it when people use subtle psychology to drown out legitimate points.
Making fun of Joe, subtly detracts from the very valid information he has presented. In the same sense that Catspaw is trying to "buddy up" to everyone, desperately hoping that all of this goes away. This whole thing goes way beyond just Oceania, BillyVassi is hated almost GLB wide...you should have seen the chat room for the GLB radio show last sunday night. It was so bad Essen wants me to bring the topic up this week on the air for a round table discussion of the whole thing.
If I offended I apologize. All I've been trying to do is sidetrack the sidetrackers, so that Joe can get his story out.
Well then, I would suggest the same thing to you that Joe pointed out to me: in an effort to make your point, you have become what you hate.
