playoff stats > regular season stats

Show me a HB (with a significant amount of carries) that has better playoff stats than regular season stats.

your missing the point. its not about superior TOTALS because there is 16 regular season games and anywhere from 1-5 or wat ever playoff games. If you produce in the playoffs that means alot more than if you perform in the regular season. if i didnt make my opinion clear in the original post, my bad.

The playoffs obviously mean a lot more than the regular season. But if a player's playoff stats are not as good as his regular stats, that is only natural. I'm constantly getting people saying, "Tea only averages 4.3 YPC in the playoffs." They don't understand that those numbers are against playoff caliber teams.

thats my point. If i was going to rank HBs i would probly rank them using playoff stats since its against the playoff caliber teams, no cupcake bull crap that most teams face 3-4 times per season that pad stats.

Yeah you could do that. The only thing is that not all HBs play the same teams in the playoffs. Whereas every team/HB gets a shot at every cupcake team in a given regular season.
not always. teams play a couple different teams each season

agreed. when it all comes down to it, regular season stats are overrated and it will remain that way until the gutted/cupcake problem is fixed.

Greg Alstott is 3.9 YPC in the playoffs http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=26374&playoffs=1

Edward Baily is 3.5 YPC in the Playoffs http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=38457&playoffs=1

In fact if you look at players that have played in Pro league's for 3 or more years Tea's numbers are better in the playoffs. The above examples are good because they have won rushing titles/awards in Pro Leagues and have played in Pro (not cheesing A or AA playoff stats).

Thank you nford for furthering the legend of Tea Baggins.

I did the math and in a 16 game season if only played against good teams Tea Baggins would look more like:

333 carries, 1600 yards (4.8ypc), 36 TD's

Very impressive and worth gloating about.

The whole "equal opportunity" thing is a Kai way of saying "We'll make excuses for his 3.8 ypc games but hype his gutted games to make up for it" and it's pathetic. Tea Baggins doesn't need the hype from gutted teams, his numbers without them are impressive enough. Bragging about the gutted teams makes people forget about his games against good/decent teams.

He has 2 TD's in the last 3 playoff seasons where Baggins has 5. Do we get to pick and choose when stats count now? Or just if they favor your weak argument.

a bit hypocritical, you compare the YPC stat only because baggins beats both of them in it and only beats 1 of them in the TD argument. Then comparing the last 3 playoff season, well hell lets just break down each game and compare them so that way you can try to make Baggins look better. Talk about a weak argument.
