Got the stat originally from FootballOutsiders.com. It tends to show how well you're running the ball but doesn't get out of whack when the running back has 1 breakaway run and follows it up by getting stuffed 10 times.

Any way to make the 'Watch Game Score' script work in the replay text as well as the pbp?

brilliantly done pabst. as for putting scores on pages like http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=7306626 i cant seem to find a way to get there, except maybe to use the PbP link to go back to the list, and then iterating like is done with the Watch Game Score script. we have the pbp_id so we could probably stop the iteration at the play id and send the #s back to the screen to put next to down and distance. i dont know what the variables all look like though, so i dont know if i can code it.

also, is the passing supposed to be left/middle/right or short/medium/long?

Pen and paper still work for me. Love the game scout... not 100% accurate, but more than close enough for what I need.

I dunno, I googled it and apparently it's mightier than a sword, so probably some medieval fighting weapon that replaced the sword.

Here's another idea about having the score on the replay.

Can you replace the text on the replay with the text from the pbp that has the 'Watch Game Score' text in it?

The columns full of 3's/4's/5's is a remnant of the original script. They show up when I overrun the array of downs which unfortunately is not the same length as the array of plays. It generally happens when the script can't figure out which words go where. I'll go through the play-by-play tonight and find the little runt which is messing up the works.

The reason I wrote it to begin with was to get short/medium/long. When I realized I didn't have easy access to the yards after the catch, I had to settle for plan B, which is left/middle/right.

I haven't tried to dig the YAC out of the replay yet, but I'm sure it's probably in there somewhere.

Very nice. Can we get threads dedicated to the scripts that are being jointly developed? Like the scout script, which still has a long way to go but is aparently being written by multiple people at the same time.

There is a private forum for developers (hidden) for sharing scripts and discussion. I can give access to those that wish.
