And since most good agents already know what the darwin build is...

There is no long term planning in this game. Just decided to cut my loses and quit buying flex. What's the point, game changes more drastically each and every season. And I'm not seeing it changing for the better. Its like playing D&D when AD&D came along, everyone playing D&D was screwed.

How so, as an OC now I can pick and choose what QB, RB, FB and TE are in for any given certain play/situation. Shouldn't DC's be able to substitute for the same type of situations?

For example, whats the point of having a Hard Hitting SS if I can't guarantee him to be used in run situations?

I agree completely. I was just stating what the apparent logic is behind not implementing it.

this is exactly part of the OC/ DC'ing i was talking about (well..some of it anyways)

there are too many problems with the underlying AI system that needs addressing ....not the player builds

You don't need agility in the 100s to trigger a Juke SA. It probably requires just as much or perhaps a little more than Spin to trigger, but mid 70 agility combo/power backs can trigger Spin with merely 5-6 points in that SA on a reliable basis (and if they have Quick Feet, quite often).

I think this is the right idea...complete freedom leads to diversity. Bort would just have to work overtime to even out all the attributes and SAs. So each attribute and SA has its own stengths and weaknesses.

ok, I'm going to build a HB. I want my 4 majors to be speed, agility, strength, carrying. What do you want?

This makes NO sense. If we all all choices how does that lead to all players being the same? That's only the case if the basic game design is flawed. If SAs really worked and players could create their own SA tree for example, why would we all choose the same tree?

Why not all people to create their own SA trees? This will make the game even more boring IMO for players. There is practically nothing to do now and the only fun that exists is in trying to figure out how best to build your player. The archetypes will take all the individualism out of our builds. An archetypes is the DEFINITION of cookie cutter. They mean the same thing.

cookie cutter = Archetype

The reason everyone gravitates towards the same thing is because the most successful people do it one way, everyone copies that and realizes it is the best way. It's the way any game would work. If you go against the grain, you're seriously taking a risk. With archtypes, you at least know you'll be assisted in doing something different.

As long as all archetypes stay valid and none are rendered useless, there will be less of a sense of cookie cutter now than before.

even without archtypes, that always gonna be one of the aspects of this game, no one is trying to build say, Kevin O'Connell at QB or Joselio Hanson at CB.

Its always gonna be pretty close to everyone going for the same few builds no matter what.

Still not sure about the whole dump pass, if its an attribute for both scrambling qb's and pocket passers in a spread offense why would there be a penalty for the pocket passer
