Really though, SLAUGHTER? It's not that serious. It's a harmless comment made mostly in jest.

Point taken - pounded/called out - probably works better.

Last thing anyone should do is get so offended by something that would have blown over in a day or two.

So it's quit or shut up? False dichotomy.

Blame the teams who wussed out because they didn't want to deal with a much more difficult struggle in season 13 (and 14 since they'd probably have a losing season and be demoted)

Pointing fingers ALWAYS helps doesn't it?

Why would you bring up such a painful memory...<3 Spicewood. May you rest in peace.

rj did however make an appearance tho as you know...

Yea, he came back and was pretty active in the alpine forums. Helped out with ideas for offense and even OCd a scrim game or two for fun ( the one where we beat mem). Plus he made some players for Alpine's farm teams. Then he just disappeared without saying anything again. really weird. Great guy. Can't blame him for having other things than GLB to do with his time.

I honestly mean it. If GLB vanished into thin air with people's flex refunded in paypal, i don't think anyone's real life lives would be any different and the time void would be filled with something else

I guess my only srs response to all of this is I would rather go 0-16 in the WL than dominate a Pro League.

You can't have the first without the second.

Let's just say called out. Now remember we're on a Football MMORPG. You would think a little harmless trash talking would be acceptable. Even by the admin. A number of top teams from a league decided to decline promotion for whatever reason. And that equates to APL "pretty much" (the top competition) wussing out. Which did happen. I'm just curious as to how many teams declined promotion. It sounds like none of the ones remaining were anything special though, and even from the ones who have come out on this forum saying they were okay with promotion, Bort seems to be right so far.

To those who didn't decline, he's not talking about you. So why are you so offended?

To those who did decline, you did in a way wuss out, so why get mad at Bort for calling a spade a spade? If it really offends you that much, you take this game too seriously.

modok and I talked him out of quitting many times...the straw just finally broke tho...

certainly lives would go on...hell, if i got refunded and GLB was done right now...id certainly be a more happy person long term.

Bort deals with real life people and their credit cards, PayPal accounts and gift cards. Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash money! Same thing. Makes me glad that in S14 I will be getting out of the African Leagues. We're wusses. Thanks Bort. Nice avi too.

he doesnt deal with them face to face at all...if you cant tell the difference between running an online video game and running your local hardware store...i dont know what to tell ya....

from the many comments ive read thus far from APL....Bort was just being nice with that comment...

Yea, apparently the APL people are wusses and sensitive babies as well. None even have the stones to stand up to bort by quitting. Hell, rj of Spicewood Longhorns felt that bort called him out by saying in a mod forum something insinuating that he wouldn't quit or something like that after rj repeatedly threatened to quit like he was bigger than the game. RJ gutted spicewood like 2 days later and he was a successful USAPL team back in season 7 or 8 whenever it happened. While i was disappointed he got too emotionally wrapped up in what bort said (pretty immature) i respected he actually went through with it unlike all the other people who say stuff like that

I have never said I would quit. The day I say that it will happen.

How can you truthfully say that when you have no idea of the teams' owners' intentions or RL situation?

I had to leave a well paying job and move 1000 miles when my dad got sick with cancer this past March (RIP Dad) and of course the team I was involved as DC with suffered some. Granted, I was not facing the WL at the time, but would certainly have declined an invitation had I been team owner at that point in time.

Unless you know the situation behind why a team declined, perhaps it is you who should drop it instead of rambling on and on and on and on and on, et cetera, ad nauseum.

Sure you can...

And I am talking about the "choice" that is involved.
