I completely agree with you Doc. I mean, what freaking moron would run the damned ball 74 fuking times and only pass 13 times ? And this is all against probably the BEST team in the entire Pro league ? Who would freaking gameplan that way ? Who would even attempt to think that garbage would work ? Better yet, name one defensive coordinator in all of GLB that would have gameplanned for a team to run the ball 74 times ??? NOBODY ! Its ridiculous ! So obviously Boston has some sort of exploit knowledge that they utilized against DDL. Thats all it can be.

This is sarcasm, right? Just checking...

Get back to me in 3 months when the Vikings have at least 8 wins already with that exact strategy and tell me there's something wrong with it.

POW! lol... thread over.

I can only hope it's more than 8

Is this really how DDL is going out this season? In a barrage of whining and excuses? Come on. I don't give TSE much credit but I have to believe his team is classier then the Kai, making excuses for losses.

Who runs the ball 74 times? A team who has run the ball all season and saw it as their only chance... Anyone could have seen their gameplan going into the game, and it worked.

I have gameplanned for 60% rush defense before (which is a lot), and I have also gameplanned my offense to hit 75% rush. It is called finding the other teams weaknesses and matching them with your strengths. I don't understand why you think this is any different than someone gameplanning 90% pass.

I figure 3 months, that's ~12 weeks, that's saying they'll be 8-4 at that point. And actually, I forgot about the bye, so if it's 11 games, I'll say at least 7 wins with 85% running and everyone in the league knowing they're doing to do exactly that.

Yea, we have some bad injuries already and still no WRs. And on top of that, I've heard way too many idiotic football people predicting great things for the Eagles so far, which means they're destined to fail.

Just give it up and become a full fledged Vikings fan. That way the disappointment is expected and constant.

Or a Chargers fan. Even when our team is doing good, we still have a stadium 1/2 full of visitor fans, and the threat of the team leaving the city.

Heavy pass is very very common. Randomly pick a team from the NCAA and you can pretty much bet that they are a pass first team. Texas Tech is a prime example. Pass, pass, pass. But show me a team that runs all day long ? Navy ? Yeah, but how many games do they win with that garbage ? Not many. When was the last time Navy won a championship ? LOL. Passing is what every team does, period. Randomly browse through every league in GLB and check out the passing leaders. 3,000 yard passers, 4,000 yard passers, and even some 5,000 yard passers. Thats in every league. Show me a 3,000 yard rusher ? There might be a few, but its very rare in GLB. QB's with high numbers out number RB's 100-1 at least. My point is that its ridiculous for anyone to run 74 times against the # 1 seed in the Pro league. TSE is a great gameplanner and it even caught him off guard. This is the playoffs. Teams don't do what they have done all season. Not typically.

Larry Csonka: 3396 yards
Maurice Jones-Drew 2898
Jackrabbit McQuad 2499.5
James Wahington 2418

All numbers you will never see in the NFL. But that isn't even the good part

Boston Nighthawks: 4913.5 yards rushing on 771 rushes
compared to 2375 yards passing on 378 attempts

I think any noob can see that is 66% rushing and over 66% of their yards are gained on the ground. So you CAN'T tell me it wasn't expected.

So, because a team is #1 teams shouldn't try and gameplan for their weakness? Come on now. If you were them, and you knew you couldn't throw the ball on them, would you try? You play to your strengths and their weaknesses, no matter what. It's ridiculous to suggest a team go against a winning gameplan because they are playing the "best" team?

Your comment would make sense if DDL was weak at defending the run.

Season 4 - DDL vs. the Run
51.7 yards per game allowed.

DDL vs. Boston during the regular season:
Boston rushed 47 times for 147.5 yards for a 3.1 average
Boston passed 18/27 completing 66.7 % for 202.5 yards

So how can anyone with common sense look at those stats and say, "Hey, I think we should run the ball 74 times against DDL in the playoffs!" Where is the obvious weakness that I am missing ? If anything, the passing game was Bostons strong point with 66.7 % completions.

Im thinking that Bostons 2 players were smoking weed right before the game and thats how they came up with the gameplan because it doesn't make sense to me at all.
