it may be late but

Marty Snedegar LB
220 tackles
3 hurries
3 sacks
19 pass deflections
2 ints
7 forced fumbles
1 fumble recovery

that is an mvp in my book

Large tackle numbers are usually a result of a bad team, not a special player.

Sometimes you need to go with the numbers. Remember when A-Rod won it as a member of the Rangers?

In baseball playing on a bad team hurts your hitting numbers because you have no protection in the lineup so pitchers can pitch around you and intentionally walk you. You'll also get a lot fewer at bats because your team scores fewer runs thus making it through the lineup fewer times.

In football, playing LB or S for a really bad team jacks up your numbers a ton because there are so many runs that get through the line and so many completed passes. Also, the other team will have so many more offensive plays against you so you'll have many more opportunities to get tackles and force fumbles. Your A-Rod analogy does not work here.

Thanks for bringing my player up for recognition. He had a good season but I'm looking forward to next season when we make the playoffs. We are putting a pretty good team together.
