The eating/drinking/hanging out you do outside the stadium before the game is called tailgaiting.

yes it does. it's the best part

Tailgating = stuff your face and get drunk with a bunch of other crazy fans in the parking lot before you go inside and and make a fool of yourself because you drank too much before the game

The best part is hanging out with the 'professional' tail-gaters, those folks that bring an RV stuffed with food and beer. Lots and lots of beer. 3 or 4 grills for the burgers, dogs, ribs and chicken. Pro games over here are pretty cool, even the Falcons and their lame ass team has awesome tailgates. The best - from what I've seen - are in hard core football towns like Pittsburg and Green Bay, though I've heard the best BBQ you'll ever get at a tailgate is in Kansas City. The college tailgates are different. More lively since it's a college town, less stuff since it's broke college students. You'll get alum that go all out with live bands and catered BBQ though. All in all the tailgating is a big part of Saturdays and Sundays in the states

It doesn't matter what field anyone is in. A good academic surveys all literature. I'm sure your papers reference stochastic optimization, game theory, psychometrics, econometrics, etc.

You're just a student, not even a candidate, so that makes you either a first-week student, or at the start of your second year, but either way, someone who has done nothing, including publish. You go to a 3rd tier school, after coming out of a 2nd tier school (so you took a step down), and joined a not-so-methodologically intensive program, and you're talking smack?

How do you figure you know what year of my study I'm in? I'm the executive director of a think tank that I founded and grew from nothing, and that is my full-time job. I do happen to be a candidate and working on my dissertation, and I have a few small publications. But who cares where I am in that, since I'm only doing that on the side.

erica, what state prison is half your team in now? Hey good luck on September 15! Maybe the NCAA won't take 15 scholarships a year and no bowl games for 3 years away from you. hahaha
