And that they both appear to be "built like a RDE" according to most people's definition and play LDE for top USA Pro teams?

Don't have that nasty "protect" SA getting in your way as a LDE

Wow, there is a ton of misinformation here. We've been able to setup a pretty strong stable of pass rush DEs who are also solid against the run. Check out this last scrimmage of our team (SE Asia AA) against a AAA team. We have 22-26 lvl DEs, they have 23-26 level OTs:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=125941

Result is 13 sacks by the DEs (3 diff guys, both LDE and RDE) for us with little blitzing.

All of our DEs have done well as RDE or LDE. You get some better sack chances on RDE as the LT is often 1-on-1, but you can get sacks from LDE as well. Also, everyone is underestimating 3 big factors in these threads - the first being energy. The other two are a little tougher to figure out, but they make sense once you do.

There is quite a bit of misinformation in this post too imo.

only one O tackle hasn't allowed a sack to Julius Dee this season and that tackle is mine. I have built Jim O'Sullivan to take on speed rushers like Dee. The funny thing about most OTs is they build completely wrong so I imagine it is easy to beat most of them. If you want sacks you need to pump agi and speed because very few OTs do that. I have 50 agi 30 speed and 7 points in the protect skill. That was enough to hold a speed rusher at bay because of my quickness dropping back into the pocket. Most OTs think 20 agility is enough and have less that 4 points into protect which is very useful.

My conclusion is to beat most OTs you should do what miked33 has done and pump agility and speed. I am pretty sure that is what he has done since his DE runs around the field faster than a lot of WRs. If you want to beat a finesse LOT like myself then having high strength might help some, but I still have 60 so it isn't like I am weak. A good LOT shouldn't give up sacks because protect gives a huge advantage.

Just a view from the opposite side of the line

No offense, you have built a very good OT, seems to be very similar in build to mine, but this game was before the evasive setting was live in our league. This was when all DEs were just trying to get in between the LG and LOT or just ran straight into the LOT. Now, if we played again, the very same thing could easily happen but it's not really fair to compare this game to the rest of the season.
