In games 1 and 2 Bort had the "nerf code" in place that was screwing over all "Speed DEs". All Speed DEs were trying to bull-rushing (Strength) the QB instead of speed-rush (Speed/Agility) the QB. Just prior to game 3 Bort implemented the code that allowed the "Pass Rush Style" player tactic to finally kick in.

The reason Major Blindside keeps getting better is that I keep focusing on putting each of his levels worth of skill points into making him a great Speed DE. Until he has all the necessary skills capped he will most likely continue to get better.

I dont get it though. He had 28 total sacks last season. He already has 21 in six games. Starts off the season with a sack in game one and nothing in game two. Then he explodes for 4, 5, 4, and then 7. Seven sacks against a LT that held him to one sack last season. The LT was boosted and as prepared as I could make him. His tactics were set on pass protect(against team wishes). I expected one sack, maybe two. SEVEN???

I cant wrap my head around it.

that was your problem, if you had been willing to go along with your team's gameplan instead of only being concerned about your own stats and sack streak maybe your team's rushing game puts you in 3rd and short a few times instead of 3rd and long allowing him to tee off on you

Could also be a build matchup that he's exploiting well.

The blocking was supposed to be no focus. I knew Blindside was going to pass rush hard all day. So I kept my focus on pass block. It worked against him before. Might as well stick with what worked. Going with no focus wouldnt have made a difference.

Riccor, Im open to advice. A lot of you should be open to advice. If Major Blindside is abusing my guy like this, what is he going to do to your LT??? Dont get it twisted now, my LT isnt some all-american or anything but my guy has handled Blindside before. This kind of explosion should be noticed by everyone who has to play Naperville.

We have a plan for Blindside, although I'm not sure how well it will work. Fortunately we faced him when he was crippled

We also have a plan for Blindside. It is well known that he is a alcoholic, so we will just send him a few 12 packs before the game along with some pretzels to keep him thirsty. We shouldn't have a problem.

Well think about it. To counter a speedy agile pass rusher would you go with..

A. A slow but strong OT.
B. A fast agile OT.

You just have to stay in front of him. Look at the advanced tactics for DEs. He is using...

Evasive: try to get around the blocker using agility.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=97453&pbp_id=3281932

You are simply one of the following or a combination of all three.

1. too slow
2. unagile
3. a little blind

You keep saying you handled him fine in the past. That's ok for the past, but he has now become too fast for you. This kind of dynamic makes the game fun to me. If you make your character too strong he will be too slow etc etc etc...

I've never seen good results out of worrying about how the O-line was focused. I finally just stoped worrying about how the O-line was focused and started leaving it up to the players to decide.

Guys like Blindside will become obsolete the second LT and LGs universally realize they need to have 48 speed/agility and pancake. Put him on his ass when you rush and lower his confidence, have speed to block his speed rush.

Unfortunately, when they fix DTs so they can actually break a block, that build might be a problem.

Stynk has over 80 strength and good skills otherwise; I'm not holding my breath for him to break any tackles anytime soon.

Might be those 4 on 1 blocks...

I can't wait for this EZ stretch in the 2nd half of the season. I'll go on record now as saying that Bringin it Baker will surpass Blindside in Sacks. I usually don't toot my player's horns, but I'm pretty damn proud of my boy after today!

Take this the best possible way as I do respect you are an owner, but it is impossible to compare stats between the two conferences with the number of gutted teams in the Western Conference. He could get 10+ sacks in the next game alone when he faces a Lv. 17 LT on the NJ GutterHawks. Not to mention later games in which you face a Lv. 18 CPU and a Lv. 9 human. If you don't get more sacks than Blindside after facing those opponents you should retire that player.

After another bad outing, Riccor is right. My OTs lack of agility is the source of the problem. Sorry about all the belly-aching. Dont get me wrong, Blindside's performance blew me away. I couldnt begin to break it down logically after that.

Its all on me. My OT has been pretty good up until this season. I didnt address the problems fast enough, I figured Id be able to coast along until some skill points would come along. Havent gotten the XP fast enough.

Thanks Riccor
