And how come other trades that were made because they were expecting these trades to go through were not cancelled? Both Parties sent a PM to support requesting that the trade be cancelled. That's the part that pisses me off. Now the Madagascar Outlaws are down to one QB cuz they traded their other to me cuz they was supposed to get the one from Laurier. That's Bullshit and I agree with Secondeye on everything. Make a rule if you don't like it and post it. Don't make the rules up as you go.

My response in PM from Rick was "We're trying to stop the gutting problem."
Perhaps that's the only answer he's going to give us. There was no reference or recognition of our problem we face now having messed up our teams by assuming trades that were accepted, and past the retraction period. His response was only "I didn't stop the trades." But there's no indication that he sympathizes whatsoever with our predicament. Just "It's not my fault, and I want to stop gutting."
Well there's an easy solution. Outlaw gutting. Don't let players sell their team mid-season, and let new owners have a period where they can pass on acceptance of a team.
What can we do now but ask Time, the new owner of Laurier to honor our deals? And why would he unless he's a hell of a nice guy? He can trade off these players to bring in several new players that will actually play for him.
It's just a bullshit situation, and I'm done with GLB as an owner and GM. My team will be sold as soon as possible.

I haven't even received a reply from support yet. And I probably won't. The damage has already been done now. Oh, but I did get an alert telling me that the team I just bought last week is going to expire tomorrow if I don't cough up more Flex points. What happened to getting 2 seasons for my initial 1,000 Flex?
This game can't afford to lose good guys like you Secondeye. They need to fix this shit or they can Kiss my Paypal goodbye.
And then when I posted in the main forum for help, all we get smug remarks by several different Mods and then a Locked topic. After they sold me a gutted team then they are gonna tell me not to gut it when I sell it back. Good Luck!

That right there is messed up and seems like it should be addressed. That seems like something that can be fixed.

Hi everyone. It seems as though there are a couple of misconceptions about what happened with kenscott86's team that need to be addressed.
First, the "mod" who advised him was me, and I'm "admin", not mod. The reason I suggested that he not gut his team, is because that is a terrible thing to do. It's not uncommon to receive complaints from new team owners who have tons of cash, but can't get human controlled players to play on their team full of CPU players. Leaving an established team in place makes a much better transition, makes it easier for new owners to get players, and helps a team stay competitive. Otherwise, we're pretty much giving someone a team, and saying "have fun, but don't count on making the playoffs, or even winning any games".
Second, I did not cancel any trades. The team was automatically reset to a CPU owner (now there's another human running it), but that was not done by anyone in admin (I know that because of the transaction information).
I think tomcollins idea of redoing contracts so that they end when the current season does, is a much better option. If the new owner does well, people will want to stay and join!
New owners should start with $500,000 and CPUs like the rest of us did.

Well, the part that is not being addressed is that there were other trades made once these trades were pending. We should have been able to cancel those trades if both parties agreed, which they did and they both PM'd Support. I don't want to take Madagascar's backup QB now that he isn't getting the QB he thought he was getting from Laurier. Can we just reverse that trade?
They have to do something dammit, cuz once again, you're not stopping anything. The Professional Gutters know not to sell the team back until all trades go through. You're just screwing the honest guys that didn't take the Gutting 101 class. I'm not going to explain this again, it's obviously being ignored.

Mr Rick,
You folks have to be very careful. Unless you have implemented new rules for teams being "Gutted" during the season, then you are not following previously established procedure by trying to convince the owner to keep the players on that team. Tim Harper two seasons ago released all his players to sell his team back, and he was widely praised by Mods and Admins as doing the right thing, and not forcing those players who signed with him to have to remain with whomever ended up with the team.
Just last season, teams were gutted then sold back to the computer with the understanding that the players had signed contracts with the original owner and shouldn't have to get stuck with someone who could be a dirt bag owner.
I've seen nothing official anywhere that changed this philosophy, and if it has become a 'bad thing' to do, then you better let people know about it, or you are going to end up with some very pissed off customers.

(Not involved in this situation, and still irritated about the hypocrisy)

I agree there is no clear answer on what to do when a team is sold back. Any solution sucks for someone. The players have the least power in this game, so I understand the need to protect them when a team changes hands.
Obviously something formal needs to happen. Bort's idea of putting the new team at the bottom of the chain at the end of the season with $500k, no stadium upgrades, and no players is the best idea. For midseason sales, make all contracts that end after the current season end on that current season. Do not resell the team until the end of the season since the team cannot be dropped midseason.
The pending trades canceling is problematic for people trying to adjust. You have no idea if someone is going to sell their team and therefore cancel your trades because of it. Besides the 1 hour window, trades should stand.

It wasn't as big of a deal to gut a team back when the highest level player was only around 15 or so. Now it's nearly impossible to build a team to compete in the league as even in our "lowly" BBB league players are around level 25 or so.
"Bort's idea of putting the new team at the bottom of the chain at the end of the season with $500k, no stadium upgrades, and no players is the best idea. That's probably the best thing to do. Don't keep the gutted team in the league that they were in. Just start from the bottom and work your way up like the rest of us have had to do. Of course, I'm still at the bottom. The difference is that I'm finally making an impact. Just move the better teams in lower leagues up to fill holes vacated by gutted teams. I can't see a better way of doing business. Tomcollins, PinTBC, and Savage Ops are definitely some of the classiest team owners I've chatted with and I'm proud to be in the same league as them.

I really want to apologize to everyone who was involved in this matter...unbeknownst to me was that when I sold the team all the pending trades were cancelled. This was certainly not done on purpose as I did not know this would happen or else I would have just waited. I suppose I should have put some more thought into the matter but I didn't know that it would affect the trades. And yes when I said MOD I guess I did mean Admin and that was my mistake, again not doing that on purpose. If the admins had have contacted me before I had made any trades in the first place then I would have ceased making deals and would have done as Tom said and just gave everyone contracts to the end of the season. But the damage was already done and I was just trying to create a good situation for all the players on the team who had been loyal to me because I felt that they deserved to be in a better situation. That is why I decided to sell the team in the first place because the situation was not good for me and it was unknown how the next owner would deal with the team. As for my players going to EZ, it was just the situation that I felt best about. Who wouldn't want to go to a top tier team that is willing to give your players a chance to start? All of those player's contracts run out at the end of the season and I have not made a commitment to stay with EZ Company beyond this season. I may choose to extend my stay but that will be decided later. I was sending some of my other players to other teams, not solely to EZ. I thought that I was doing the right thing in the first place and I appologize to everyone in the league, those who were involved in trades, my own players, and to the Admins. I just hope that I did not disrupt the integrity of BBB#16

Not really your fault, you didn't know. Why they couldn't reverse the subsequent trades is beyond me. Is there any chance that the new owner will honor the trades that were cancelled when you sold back? And as far as letting all your players go everyone does it, look what happened to that Seattle Majestic guy when he left all his players for the new owner. The new owner came in and gutted the team, lol.
