Mike's a coach at my (Real life) team, and our Head Coach went to visit him yesterday. He couldnt get in to see him, but spoke to his brother Mark.
He said Mike had suffered a seizure (sp?) the second night in intensive care, something to do with some swelling around the skull (Or inside not sure it was third hand info).
He is now out of intensive care and on a private ward, and he also has a shattered check bone.

Mike is out of Intensive care, and in a normal room now.
He did have a bit of a siezure early Friday that had us a bit scared, but were told its because of the swellinging around his skull going down, and some nervers that had gone into shock and closed down had woken up again and overloaded his brain for a bit..
They did have to operate on his eye socket to remove pieces of shattered bone, and its possible that they may have damaged his vision permenantly. Its possible the bone splinters might have scratched some light receptors, and if he is lucky enough that that didnt happen, its likely that his muscles wont focus the eye like they used to do.
Right now he is only awake for 3 or 4 hours at a time as he is on pretty heavy meds.
Were expecting him to be coming home once the docs are happy that he is not going to have more seizures. but they might keep him in for a bit until they see whats up with his vision.
4 people have been arrested over the attack.
turns out the fight was between youngers of the Ghetto Boys and Peckham Boys. Once certain people found out it was Mike that got hurt they handed over those responsible.
Mike is very well known by both gangs as he volunteers in youth rehabilitation programes, getting the kids involved in sports to get them out of the gang culture.

So how about it then? To honour our WEPL comrades let's award the winners of the Zeta Conference with "The Dublin Cup" and the Alpha Champions with "The Rogers Cup".
