Yea, a lot of the BBB teams are good in general, and maybe, just maybe, they could fight well in the USA Pro. In other pro leagues, Canada, Africa etc. they will for sure put up a decent fight!

I know a pretty balanced DE who had 9 sacks in the preaseason and 9 sacks in his first game (albeit the 9 sacks in his first game was against a much lower OL). Don't blame the game entirely.

I blame the game when a player (with an unrealistic build), can totally change the scope of a sim. There's a reason DEs aren't built like defensive backs or wide receivers. They'd get mauled by an OT in the real world or be totally in-effective due to the huge detour it takes to avoid him.
Maybe I'm a little bitter that such an unrealistic player build got 5 sacks against our team in a play-off game, completely removing all of the competition. Mostly due to the fact that the tactics, lack the ability to counter such an exploit. Congratz to the Golfers I guess, on removing the spirit of the game, to get the "W".
Logic 4tw or something. Anyone need a DE, start looking in the DB forum... you too can amass huge sack numbers and change games.

just look at the 2008 draft and prospect nowadays at the DE. they weigh less that they normally do and are faster. how is it unrealistic.

Like who? Name a DE that is significantly lighter than the average DE weight and show me one that can't bench press as much as a typical DB... thought so. Please, use common sense. I guess the Bears are going to try Hester at DE in the future right... that's basically the equivalent of this build.
This build is nothing more than exploiting game mechanics... there's a reason this build isn't wide spread... your average person doesn't consider doing such a thing, because it makes zero sense in the real world. Which is what this game is supposed to be based on.

I made this thread to give people advice about building their players, not for you to have yet another place to complain about how my player beat you guys singlehandedly or whatever. Go start another thread in the "bugs" forum or somewhere else if you want to complain about my player please.

I have a Speed build and i know for sure it can bench more than a DB.
SPD need to be built with not that much str cuz we have 2 main stats that need to be relatively close. a bull rushing de has 1 main stat (str) plus a little agi. Comprendo?

I did that already, but it got bogged down by all the GLB fanboys and eventually locked. At least now I know why your player single-handedly beat our team... it's a build that exploits game mechanics, as well as logic.
iMan,
What does reality have to do with your speed build? Einstein, you said "unrealistic?
just look at the 2008 draft and prospect nowadays at the DE. they weigh less that they normally do and are faster. how is it unrealistic."... I asked for examples and you bring up your speed rush DE in GLB... Check out the big brain on Brad.

There actually are a few speed DE ends that are close to the size of DBs. Here is one, although he was not in the 2008 draft class. 5'11 is about the height of an NFL DB.
Elvis Dumervil | #92 | DE
Denver Broncos
Height: 5-11 Weight: 260 Age: 24
Born: 1/19/1984 Miami , FL
College: Louisville
Experience: 3rd season

Height isn't important it's weight... he's 260lbs at 5'11", that's pretty jacked. Most DBs don't break 230lbs (that's that do are extremely tall). Proportionally, this Denver DE is probably more muscular than those 6'3" 280lb DEs... like I said, having a DE with stats rivaling a DB is unrealistic. Although, because this game is a beta and still trying to work out the problems, people are exploiting these mechanics. It'd be one thing if this person was bringing it to the attention of the staff to try and correct it, but instead he's using it to gain an advantage.
If this wasn't absurd and unrealistic, we'd see speed/agility players lining up at DE in real life. Right now, DE players typically have a certain size and strength requirement first, speed and quickness on top of that is a bonus. I've seen people attempt to use speedy players at DE before in semi-pro, guess what happened... they either got mauled or ran themselves out of the play trying to avoid the OT. If they did manage to get past the OT, they had a HB or FB blast them. A typical OT can throw a 200lb speed player off-balance with a single hand.

Yeah this build is gamey, but not completely off base with some of the DE coming out of college.
Name: Bryan Smith
College: McNeese State Number: 93
Height: 6-3 Weight: 231
Position: OLB Pos2: SS
Class/Draft Year: Sr/2008
40 Time: 4.74 40 Low: 4.63 40 High: 4.82
Drafted in the 3rd as a DE.
Just exploit this DE the way he exploits you. Install a ton of runs to the left for the game you play him. Run right over his ass.

Unfortunately, earlier in this thread, he said that he hardly gets pancaked due to the low strength. Like I've been saying, the game doesn't really give us avenues to counter this kind of nonsense.
That Player will be asked to add some weight if they want him as a DE, just the Bears asked Urlacher to beef up to move from SS to MLB. Otherwise he'll fill a very specific role of DE in certain situations... no way he'll be an every down DE at 230lbs.
