It's great that sam worked so hard to put this together but there are some pretty obvious omissions.

Maybe sam didn't have to work so hard to get these out immediately after the season? Maybe he could've asked for help or outside input? I'm sorry but I don't think people should get an ATTA BOY! just because they spent time typing something up. This could've been done better.

madetoorder's rankings were well done, creative, and involved input from a group of people who followd the league. I never was critical of those because they CLEARLY involved a lot of thought.

If anything, I think that group could've come out with a better set of awards or nominees.

There's quite a difference between that and saying that you'd prefer there was no list at all.

Let me just point out why I seemed upset about all the people complaining. I do a lot of writing outside of GLB and occasionally do little playoff or power ranking blurbs for GLB to spark discussion and such. If I had made an awards nominees thread like that and later came back to the forums and found a thread where most people were 1)straight up bashing the list (poorly thrown together, better off without a list) and/or 2)complaining their player/teammate should have made the list, I would just say "Fuck it, if these guys don't appreciate anything and (other than a few people) have nothing constructive to say, I'm not gonna waste my time with them if they are just gonna flame me for all my effort." I don't want sam to do that. I actually enjoy reading those, comparing players, voting, and seeing the results. I don't want it to come to an end because some people aren't happy and feel the need to make insults rather than offer constructive criticism. I completely understand madet0rder stopping with the rankings because of the endless complaints. I don't blame him one bit. Whiners have already caused our power rankings to fold, I don't want them to chase out our end of the season awards too just because they happen to be bitter their player isn't on the list or whatever.

Purehatred has shown that he does have constructive criticism to offer but he didn't actually post it until the end of the 3rd page. Making posts like his first one deter people from making interesting, statistically researched threads. I have no problem with discussion, I do have a problem with posts that say little more than "this list is shit" without any other remarks.

One addition I'd like to see:

For "top FB," there should be stats listed for most Pancakes:

Bull: 23
Tim: 24
Kyle: 3
Minkus: 1

I'd also say something about YPC for the HBs behind the FB, but that would be very complicated to calculate. At least with Pancakes, there's something taken into account for blocking FBs.

I can understand your POV but there is something to be said for the fact that if you are going to present yourself in an "official" manner ( Kentucky Enquirer having it's own sub-forum) and you are asking others to vote, well then your list would have to be pretty spot-on to avoid criticism.

Especially in an arena where people do take the game and their builds seriously.

Pointing out obvious mistakes or omissions is not whining, unless bolstersam actually has a reason why someone like, say, Hot Potato wasn't in the list?

Honestly, if the list was just meant to 'spark conversation' then just post a list saying "This is who I think is the MVP, Offensive MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, etc" and let other people agree or disagree.

Ok I am sorry for all this guys. I didn't think there would be that much controversy over this. Man I mean they are fake awards anyway.

I just am not doing them anymore. I am sorry to all the people that have spent time to vote.

Sam, just tell em all to piss off. These are your awards that are being voted on - you are entitled to nominate whoever you please.

As chad13 said, we could all do our own awards yet you are one of the few who went through the effort to compile this information. I, for one, am thankful for you doing so.

Agree. Keep doing it. Dont let the general public take you out of the game.
